The Iraqi War Memorial - what should it be?
It's 2013. Imagine, if you can, the world is still here. After ten years and tens of thousands of dead, the United States is finally declaring victory and pulling out its troops. Talk begins of erecting a war memorial. What should it be?

My suggestion: a marble oil derrick, pumping an eternal geyser of blood.

16. Thank U so much for that pic - it's going in my whatafuckingidiot folder.
And now that I got a job (FINALLY) that pic will be perfect for when I put my website back up (had to take it down in case any of my interviewers wanted to do a quick google search).

15. That was the first thought I had too, but
I would have added the inscribed names of all the servicepeople killed or missing to the statue, just to remind everyone of who started this idiocy.

4. A gold plated 55 gallong oil drum
Inscribed with the names of our American solders (in 2 pt font). The memorial should be paid by Halliburton, Bechtel, and the RNC, I think.

7. If the RNC was involved with paying for it
they would try to link the war with 9/11 somewhere on the monument. We can't have people in the future confused like they are today. Maybe we could get the money from them as part a forced payment to the families of service people they sent over that died as a result.

18. Statue of Liberty
We should remove the Statue of Liberty, send it off to Baghdad, and in it's place erect a gold plated oil rig with this inscripted upon it.
Give me your oil, your gas, your ignorant masses yearning to breath pollution on our wretched shores. Send the cheap labor, the homeless, the tempest tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside this Golden Rig.

6. All those would be appropriate.
Here's mine: A burnt-out, pock-marked globe with only the World Trade Centers left standing. Bush would be standing astride them like the Colossus of Rhodes, dressed as a Templar knight.

19. Let's see...
Almost as tall as the Washington memorial, a sort-of obelisk made of depleted uranium in the shape of W's erect member, painted in red, white and blue, with a sort of latin-cross necklace around the scrotal area. At night, it would be illuminated so as to make the gold-plated head appear to have a halo.

And every hour it ejaculates blood all over sculptures of dead Iraqis lying on the ground below.

Sorry. I couldn't think of anything offensive.
