The Way Dean Handled the Financing Issue is a Lesson to Other Candidates
So damn simple: use your online supporters as cover for an outright contradiction.

Brilliant politics, and a lesson in how to run a campaign that none of the other Democrats have mastered.

Dean's about-face on this issue would have looked terrible. Instead, he made it look like a voter-driven democratic process when it's obvious that he intended to opt out of matching funds anyway.

Simple, yet effective.

1. I think a lot of Republicans are supporting Dean right now
They are the NRA, and they are pretending to support Dean, just to create mischief. Any chance those NRA members will vote Democratic in November? HAH. Sometimes I crack myself up.

3. Especially in open primary states
I doubt many people change registration but in an open primary it's too simple to f#$k with the system.

2. Dean needs better Dem spokespersons on TV.....
I don't want to see that Susan Eldrich, and I don't want to see that Brazil woman from the Gore campaign delivering Democratic issues on TV. Susan Eldrich's voice gives me the wooleys. Brazil brings nothing to the table. I just don't understand how these two women are selected to represent the Dems on TV.

I hope Dean campaign selects new faces and better prepared women to represent our party on TV.

5. Brazil sounds proBush....
That Bay Buchanan repig woman had better points supporting the Dems than Brazil. They were both on TV this week. Brazil has go go.

6. Donna Not Anti-Dean, Either
Donna is neutral, and pretty assiduously so.

I wish the DLC could say the same thing. They should stop referring to candidates by name (at least) when criticizing.

8. That's exactly why they are selected because they
bring nothing positive about Democrats to the table.

7. You know, I've noticed...
that there seem to be a good number of liberals who stick to their guns of what is ethical or unethical regardless of how complex a situation may be, the different dynamics involved, or how a situation might change over time. They can't see the trees through the forest. They'd rather self-destruct with their long-held ideals intact than examine every situation with some depth, and then be willing to compromise based on that unique situation.

The truth is, Dean's message can be the most effective, truthful, inspiring message out there, but if few hear it, then it is essentially useless. Bush's message is a load of crap, but with $200 mil and the good PR/propoganda campaign he is going to buy with it, he will still be able to convince more people to agree with him simply because of widespread dissemination, than someone who lacks the funds to buy 1/4th of Bush's media access.
