Can someone tell me about "free speech zones?" How far away must you be and anything else helpful. Working on another paper and freepers will be reading it. I want them to know the real truth.

1. It's my understanding that the distance varies

Last fall, when the anti-war and ever-present anti-Bush protests were going on, one report here on DU from a protester was that the FSZ was 1 mile away.

The ACLU filed suit on this not long ago. Have you dug up info on that?

I do think it depends on the place and the amount of protestors.. Most assuredly, they are set up far enough away so that they will get little or no press coverage and so that the chimp will not see them.. They are usually set up so there is only one way in/out and that "pen" is then guarged by cops on horseback, or "stormtroopers"..
