Will there be any money left to use aginst Bush?- Apology for earlier rant
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 10:00 PM by TakebackAmerica
With the rate Dean is raising cash will Democrats be "tapped" out by 04. My fear is that Rove's dream is coming true. Dems spend there money killing each other and have nothing left for Bush. Unlike Bush most D's aren't CEO's multinational billion dollar Fortune 500 companies.

We need to conserve our cash. I plan to spread my cash around. Giving to our eventual nominee and Democrats in too close to call Senate and House races.

BTW, I'm sorry for my rant aginst Dean this morning. It was counterproductive and against my own value system. I was WRONG.

Ihope I haven't offended my friends in the Dean camp.

1. I can't speak for Dean supporters BUT
I think we are all passionate about this process and at times we allow our passions to guide us into some rather negative rants. That's okay, so long as we come back once in awhile, touch base, let the rest of the world know we don't hate them that in the real world we'd like to catch a cup of coffee with each other... everything will be fine.

4. My guess is $150,000,000

The doners are more "enthusiastic" about beating Bush now than they were in 2000.

Here is the 2000 data. bush will probaly raise DOUBLE would he raised in 2000.

Total Raised:
George W. Bush $193,088,650
Al Gore $132,804,039

Federal Funds:
George W. Bush $67,560,000
Al Gore $83,016,084

Total Spent:
George W. Bush $185,921,855
Al Gore $120,031,205

Cash on Hand:
George W. Bush $7,201,734
Al Gore $12,772,827

10. $150 million isn't that bad
Gore was behind * by more than $60 million in fundraising. As long as our nominee is competitive financially (and we will be thanks to Soros and other PACs) then * can't "Dukakis-ize" our nominee.

3. Dean's thrifty. If he gets the nomination, there'll be plenty of $ left.

6. Not only is he thrifty
But there are hordes of his supporters doing what they can for the campaign out of their own time for free. That's one of the nice things about the Internet. We can do a lot for Dean without spending a single dime--and it gets results!

5. I don't remember which anti-Dean rant...
was yours because there are so many, LOL. People in the Dean camp are saying the same thing--they don't want Dean using a lot of money trying to defeat the other candidates. We want him to save it and use it to fight Bush. For now, I'm waiting to see who is going to run against my Senator (the innocuous Bob Bennett--I would LOVE for Utah to have a Republican Senator for ONCE), and hopefully my Congressman, Jim Matheson is safe--though he is basically Republican according to his much of his voting record, but still better than the 'pubs running against him, though he used Bush in his commercials. I would love to vote in a Green Congressman, but a Green is just not going to get elected in my more conservative district--I'm lucky to get a Democrat.

I speak for myself, but apology accepted. I'm sure many here have made strong statements in our posts and regretted it later, myself included.

8. Going by the anti-Bush commercial (landing on the aircraft carrier)
Dean may already be gunning for Bush.

Would this be considered money being used against the other candidates?
