Today I have participated in history – what a trip! My husband, daughter, and I traveled to Burlington to help sign the Declaration of Independence. We, the people, are now free from fund raising restrictions! It has been an amazing, momentous day. I got to watch my daughter share a giggle with Governor Dean as he held her in his arms. I got to tell a national audience why I feel so strongly about supporting this campaign. I got to pray my daughter wouldn’t have a meltdown during a live television feed . . .
There are so many thoughts going through my mind as I write this. My daughter will turn ten at the end of President Dean’s second term. She will likely learn in history class how this campaign changed America forever. And she will know that she was a part of it (and have the picture framed on her wall to prove it). I am thrilled to be able to participate in this effort to take back our country. It's really happening – I can feel it. The energy in this room is awesome – it seems as if some small part of everyone who supports Dean is here and creating a magic that will live on during his administration. I can’t even imagine what is going to come of all of this. I do know it will be unlike anything we have ever seen, and it will be good. I believe.
