1. Gosh
will they never stop????!!!!?????

They just want to take over everything.

I mean, SCOTUS is probably the last bastion of something that represents a moderate viewpoint. Sadra Day O'Conner is the last block to Bush's efforts of getting rid of Affirmative Action, Abortion, and Gay Rights.

Although she does go with the conservatives more often, she does pull in there for the big ones sometimes.

7. I had harsh words for her then

but she does pull through for the big rulings for the left sometimes.

2. This is why I have stopped watching the
portions of C-Span where callers are included.

They are NOT a representative sample and they generally just make me go nuts!

3. Make mine a double.
That caller's remarks are so clueless and false I'm glad I wasn't watching. My head would have spun off it's axis.

:(

I truly weep for my country.

5. Without A Doubt
Some of those people are truly insane. I wonder if Regan cut them loose from the mental institutions to infect the GOP years ago?

6. On the other hand...
They just had a caller who berated the "right-wing whiners" and told them they needed to grow some thicker skin if they can't tolerate any criticism of Boosh.

I smile when I hear some backbone and fiestiness exhibited from the left. Whoever the caller was, I'd vote for her in a New York second.

8. Haven't 7 of the justices...
Been appointed by Republican presidents? At least a few have seen the light and vote towards the center...

9. Behold the power of the media!
The caller has heard that "liberal court" tripe on his* talk shows about twenty times and now sees himself qualified to call in and express his own learned opinion. He is now famous in his little circle because he "got on TV." He truly believes that he has arrived at his opinion through careful consideration of all the facts.

He has probably also been conditioned to despise the notion of "judicial activism." Yet he cannot see how this activism completely subverted the 2000 election; his own vote was just as invalid as a Gore voter's.

This man has merely succumbed to the fallacy that "If it's on the news, it must be true." He will go to his grave convinced that nobody does his thinking for him and bu$h will profit from his corpse.

12. I'm white, 55, but fortunately....
I'm gay.
I do know similarly-aged heteros and most would probably agree with the nitwit cited. One in particular. Doesn't like duck-anus, but doesn't like Demos more. KNOWS war based on lies, KNOWS the shrub policies benefit the rich and not him (runs a small business), KNOWS that the anti-public-education policies reflect poorly on his WIFE (she's a high school guidance counsellor) and will be bad for her job, YET STILL HE'LL VOTE FOR BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sees the Dems as tired and passe, except for Dean, who while new blood, is TOOOOOOO ANTI-WAR. Doesn't make the very simple connection that if a war is immoral, illegal, and lie-driven, that being anti-war is partiotic. He's not stupid (laughs at my jokes) but he is so conditioned that not even self-interest can sway him from hatred of liberals/progressives. I'm afraid that there are far too many like this.
On the other hand, there is a growing number of Repus in the VERY CONSERVATIVE area that see duck-anus for what he is. They're mostly women, and I think that they refrain from much public expression on their views. I'm hopeful (barely) that there are more like them and that as the vileness of the thug's beliefs are more clear they will vote against shrub.

10. Ignorant statements like that should be enough to
discredit the right. They really don't know what they're talking about. They need to take a time-out and get their facts straight.
