What is wrong with Stephanopolous? The other person on the panel was trying to get Perle to admit he had not communicated the offer of a deal by the Saddam intermediary, when Perle was trapped, he changed the subject of the discussion!!!!

Hollbrook (former US ambassador to the UN)-- who was questioning Perle before stupid Stephanopolous interrupted him-- says it is going to be very difficult.
Now George Will--Yuck. Now he says Bush speech on democraticizing the Middle East is not what we need now... turn on electricity in Iraq first.
Perle: turn over to Iraqis. Even Will says turn over to which Iraqis?

3. Showing Cheney saying in 1991 that we would get into a civil war

in Iraq. Now Perle saying we are not in a civil war (the Sunis are not killing Shiites for example). -- my comment: no they are killing us--.

5. George Will: we created the Iraqi governing council.

Perle says that the council represents the Iraqi population. Will says how do we know they are representative of the population.

Hollbrooke says you cannot build a democracy when you are at war. Even our beneficiaries of the dowining of Saddam are going to get into this agains the USA.

Turkey did the right thing by rejecting the sending of troops. Perle saying the council did not invite the Turks and that is the problem. Perle tries to interrupt Hollbrooke but he does not allow him to interrupt. Hollbrooke said that was the USA error and a fiasco. Hurting Turkey also and handled badly. Bremer publicly said "don't come".

Holbrooke was great and had Perle on the ropes. (you could tell by the frequency of Perle's interruptions as Holbrooke shredded lie after lie.
