Transcript: Carl Levin on 'FOX News Sunday'
As many of us refuse to watch Faux, no matter who is on, I thought I'd post this transcript. It's interesting because of some of Levin's comments, not because of Snowjob's questions.

1. BTW, here's how Democrats should handle the press
Edited on Sun Nov-09-03 11:54 AM by khephra
LEVIN: Even though, by the way, even though, by the way, Tony, the very resolution creating the Intelligence Committee says that we should look at the use of intelligence, the chairman of this committee and the Republicans refuse to look at the administration's use or exaggeration of intelligence.

SNOW: Senator, you've made that point repeatedly...

LEVIN: Good.

(slap!)

2. exactly Kef!
that was the part I was about to post.

The transcript doesn't show that Levin said "good" with absolutely no hesitation. :-)

4. After watching Biden all these Sundays
It was so nice to see Levin this morning, even if it was on Faux. Levin just kept going right back at Snow. It was a wonderful sight to see today!

NO Hesitation!

11. You are so right. I posted on this before I saw your post.
Levin handed Snow his butt on a platter. We must get wise to the tactics used by the Bush media minion. Levin is an object lesson in how to handle them. Don't let them interrupt or change the subject. Call it like it is and challenge them when they are attempting to change the topic. Heretofore, they have been very good at it.

3. the most egregious case of poor listening skills I've seen in a long time
Snow so completely and stupidly misrepresented what Levin said, that Levin was cofused. Could Snow actually be this stupid:

SNOW: OK. If that's the case, how do you explain his behavior -- stonewalling inspectors, acting in a deliberately provocative way toward the United States, basically kicking inspectors out? What on earth, if a guy did not have those weapons, would lead him to embark upon such a path?

LEVIN: The only thing I can think of -- and God knows, nobody can get inside the mind of a Saddam Hussein. The only thing I can think of would be that he thought that if we believed he had weapons of mass destruction that perhaps we would not attack him.

SNOW: So, in other words, he had bad intelligence?

LEVIN: I -- he had what intelligence?

SNOW: You're saying he may have believed he had weapons that he didn't have?

5. This is done purposely
I've seen Tweety do this, too. You sit there listening to the exchange and think, "what are they stupid?"

It took me a while to realize this is done to confuse the viewers.

7. Tony Snow is an incompetent shill
Complete shill for the RNC, always has been. Now, he will have his own radio talk show, I heard. Geez, just what we need - another one.

8. Thanks for posting this Keph...
Fox is on my Cable channel 70, and it's blocked (by me - I don't want to even accidentally tune it in).

13. Thanks, Khephra for posting this. Levin was terrific!
I rarely can stand to stomach Faux News Sunday. Levin really controlled the interview; he was masterful.

14. If you saw Richard Holbrooke on with Richard Perle this AM with
Tweety Matthews, Perl kept trying to interrupt and Holbrooke cut him off with a curt "Let me finish." I was walking through the living room and saw Holbrooke do this at least twice!!

15. Levin's great. And don't the right wingnuts realize that in
pushing this ridiculous draft-of-a-memo thing that they are actually implicating themselves as office espionage thugs?

How was the memo procured?

Who wrote it? So far I've heard something about a staffer in Rockefeller's office, but it was only a draft, and nobody in the Senate even saw the darned thing.

For that matter, do we even know anything about the authenticity of the so-called memo?

There's a lot about this matter that really stinks.

16. Levin kicked some serious butt!
He didn't play nice and he didn't let Shithead put words in his mouth. It was great!
