How Bush Lost the War on Terrorism ?
Can you see the headlines that will be in Arabic? US WITHDRAWS! IRAQ DEFEATS AMERICA! This is a legitimate fear for this Administration. The Arab World would look at a withdrawal in Iraq as a victory that started with the attack upon the WTC. Iraq would only be a perceived continuation of a war that started at that time. It would be presented as a great victory in the Middle East.

This is the situation that George W Bush set up. It was not necessary to create such a perilous adventure, but he did. Now the pressure is on Bush and Repubs to withdraw troops from that war zone. Mostly because our troops are being picked off like siting ducks. With an election quickly approaching, the pressure is imminent to do something different.

This is how George W Bush can lose the war on terrorism. They are not men of vision. They see what happens from one minute to the next and then figure out the best PR method to handle the situation. But that is a losing strategy in this mess in Mesapotamia.

Bush is getting ready to lose the war that he thought was going to change the world. However, it is more important to he and his Administration that they win the next election and maintain power than whether or not America is humiliated and loses prestige in the world. Should anyone trust them to make a wise decision?

2. He's already lost the war,
so badly, in fact, that one wonders if that wasn't the plan all along.

March, 2004 will be a watershed. Military types have stated that present troop strength cannot be sustained past that point. bush just called up 47,000 reservists. Lord knows how many more will be called before March. If any major terror attack against US interests happens anywhere in the world outside of Iraq, the US will not be able to respond. At that point, the sleeping tiger of American resolve will have become a stuffed trophy on display in every terrorist cell on the globe, not to mention an object of derision in the governing chambers of both our allies and enemies.

Thus ends the New American Century.
