"Saddam is being driven around Iraq in a white, Chevy Caprice."
I meant to post this earlier but I was at mass praying for an end to this thing.

Anyways, Dr. Bob Arnot was on MSNBC this morning doing a "report" about how Saddam travels throughout Iraq. That a convoy of unmarked cars blocks off an area and voila, there is Saddam. The best part was the assertion that Iraq is filled with "this type of car" and that's why it's so hard to find him.

Am I the only one who heard this nutball?

1. Damn... my mom used to drive a white Caprice
Good thing she's been dead for 5 years or she might find a Predator-launched stinger missle tailgating her!

4. I heard that too.
Is the media getting desperate or what? More than once I heard them say the bombing last night was a "good thing". That is utterly disgusting. Now, Saddam is driving around in a Chevy Caprice-- give me a break!

16. BBC's John Simpson's guess:
Edited on Sun Nov-09-03 07:39 PM by Skinner
<<snip>>

WHERE is he? Shortly after Baghdad fell, I met General Ali al- Jajjawi of Saddam's Republican Guard in a darkened room in the newly liberated city of Mosul. A day earlier he had been defending Mosul against American and Kurdish troops; now he had come over to Saddam's enemies. They trusted the general. He had, my Kurdish host told me, often intervened to save the lives of Kurds during the worst times of Saddam's repression.

We talked about the war, and about his former master. Was Saddam still alive? "Yes, I'm certain he is," said al-Jajjawi. "He wouldn't kill himself, and he would never surrender: he's not that type at all. He wasn't killed by the bombs the Americans dropped. We know that."

But he's on the run now? He's in hiding somewhere?

"This, you must remember, is his background: he knows what it is to be hunted."

When did he escape from Baghdad?

"I don't think he did escape from Baghdad. I think he has been spending most of his time there. He was there when the Americans entered the city."

17. Like someone said here before: The US hasn't even be able to find
one of Saddam's doubles. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if Saddam is somewhere watching everything on TV and listening in to FOX News. That would be the best source of US intelligence to tell what this administration might do next. FOX is such a puppet of the administration and so transparent, I can tell what is going to happen next.
