1. Is it me or is DU 100000000 times better than the Free Republic
I'm not just talking about the posts. I'm talking about the site itself.

Would you want to trade this site for the Free Republic if it were a liberal site?

Me: no.

I find that the design of that board makes you really confused.

I never thought I'd say this but i feel kinda bad for those guys.. they dismiss Gore on the fact that he is a democrat..

Once you've lost the ability to think for yourself youre in trouble.

I never dismiss what someone says just because he's a republican.. I mean if Bush says something I atleast hear him out and try to find what his point is and everything.

Same with my republican parents.. dad would slap me if I ever became such a political zombie that I'd stop thinking for myself.

14. This subject could be a whole thread.
Forget their politics, their website is confusing and doesn't allow for easy discussion threads.
It's designed for more one-on-one discussions and rants, not group debate.

At first I liked the Freep interface better than DU. However, the longer I compare the two the less I like their interface. I feel kinda sorry for them.

The DU site is better in every way imaginable. The mods rock, many topics to choose from, easy interface, and generally a kinder vibe. I could go on...but I have to go.

Perhaps for Christmas we could sent them a suggestion list.

21. What will happen
if a democrat does win in '04? I mean these assholes have gone a long way to get where they are, are they just going to roll over and say "you won fair and square". I don't think so. This has reached a fever pitch as far as I can see and I don't see them letting go. Something big is going to happen, assassination attempt or something way out. They WILL NOT settle for a negative result.

35. The FreeReublic is as close to communism as anything in the world
today. Hell, the Chinese are more liberal and individualistic than the groupthinkers that comprise FR.

As they get more reactionary and shrill in theirrhetoric, the more moderates they lose. "The Base" over there is becoming extremely narrow and paranoid, traits that they share in common with the communist zealots of old. Instead of the Redbook, they have the RNC "talking points". They'd be happy in a one-party totalitarian regime....just like Maoists of old....

29. Freepers are always using one-worders, never any critical
responses. Commies, traitors, lefties, libruls, saddam-lovers etc.

It's so pathetic. They are SO last century.

They constantly reverse themselves. They will call Clinton dumb, Gore dumb, Clark dumb...then suddenly when Condi is mentioned it's "She's got her doctorate...what a smart lady."

Also, they are totally obsessed with Hill and Bill. You can pick out any thread about any topic and eventually there will be a Hill or Bill slur invoked.

These people DO NOT think. They base all their thinking on Fox and RW radio.

22. Why do those freepers take such glee......
In other people's misery? If they think for one minute someone is not happy with the direction this country is going in and they dissent, they (freepers) get off better than having an orgasm. How stupid those poor ignorant sheep are,to agree with bu$h and his cronie's policies that hurt them just as much as it hurts us. Are they so dumb they think they're immune to what ASScrap and their Forrest Gump pRESIDENT is really doing to them too? Geesus.....I thank God everyday I am not like those people. To think like they do would be the WORST thing that could happen to a normal human being in today's society. :puke:

34. they are the very type who never want to take responsibility
for the consequences of their actions and decisions. They cannot accept the truth when it is laid out in black and white in front of them. Lying is a natural as drawing breath to these nuts---and believing in those lies is even easier.

This country has more to fear from people who can be led astray by a liar than by the lie itself.

FR was getting a lot of media attention, so I checked it out. The site was so confusing I didn't bother to even register. Never been back since, with the occasional exception of clicking a link here.
