Economy is UP! Pubs say its due to Tax Cuts! "The Recession is from |
|
Clinton" and Viola, the tax cut rescues the DAY.
If this is true, that cutting taxes creates more jobs and makes things grow, Then cut out ALL TAXES.
I say, we need MORE TAX CUTS.
Come, lemme sell you Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach

We sure added a few Wal-Mart jobs, didn't we?
Shame were still haemmoragging the good jobs.
Plus, the Busheviks lie, and I am wondering whther or not they have entered the Soviet Phase of the Bushevik Occupation of Amerika.

This would be a stupid strategy on the Republicans part.
They want to put Clinton's record of job creation against Bush.
Cool. We win.

There is no question the tax cuts give a short-term boost to the economy. Especially in the service sector. How could they not? You put all of that cash into the pockets of the already haves and they spend it! Result? A short-term boost in economic indicators. Best evidence that this is what's happening is the lack of manufacturing jobs and the response on Wall Street.

I didn't mean that I support the tax cuts. No way! It is selfish and short sighted. But, they do work in the short term to bump up the economic indicators.

8. Well tax cuts do help the economy |
|
Ofcourse when people can buy more stuff.. the economy goes up.
BUT.. when you at the same time have an expensive war + you let companies sack ppl in thousands and move to India tax cuts wont mean a damn thing unless for a short short while.

11. Tax cuts for the wealthy can't work in the long run |
|
because even the wealthy run out of things to buy. So they invest their money in securities and real estate and these are commodities that don't stimulate the economy that much because they are held for long term profits. Now millions of Joe Sixpacks out buying stuff for their families does stimulate the economy and the wealth trickles up not down.
But the Repukes don't buy this, even when the facts are crammed in their faces, so it leads me to believe that they like masses of poor and unemployed so only those who are very rich can enjoy the good life and the rest of us can work to serve them for very little in return. Fear of losing our jobs and asking for better wages keeps us from complaining too.

12. I am not an economist but isn't the economy going to pick up this |
|
time of year? I mean Christmas is less than 2 months away so alot of people are spending for christmas. I want to see the numbers after christmas when spending slows way down because everyone is broke or in credit card debt up to their eyeballs. Then there won't be any spending and there probably won't be any new jobs either. (Wouldn't that account for the rise in the service industry? Hiring christmas help). If I am way off base, tell me.

16. Stupid is as Stupid Does |
|
It is a slam dunk they hire some extra workers in the malls for Christmass. I do not think the sales numbers will be good at all. The credit card debt is not going to run to the rescue either, every one is leveraged up to their eyeballs in this REFI ECONOMY
The economy has been fueled by the refi market too long. It is nothing more then paper wealth and wall street knows this. Already the Escalades and Excursions purchased from the refinacing of ones house are poppoing up on street corners with some very attractive SLASHED discount prices. Here is the kicker, When are they going to add the debt from this war to the national debt. That is when the proverbial shit well hit the fan. Hopefully it will be all over the administration when it lands.
All the Bushit Camp wants to know is there any more suckers out there.

14. Too much apprehension/uncertainty in the air. America is still |
|
scared and fearful. Major spending is only trickling in. DOW is skitterish, Homeless is up, Hunger is on the rise, jobs created not the ones we yearn for($80K and up), and death waiting for those who are assigned to the Middle East.
Are we better off now than when Big Dog was getting his BJ?
Don tink so

. . . people in authority keep saying something over and over again, people will start to believe it. We see it with Fox. We see it with the Bush Administration.
What does this remind you of?
