The alleged economic recovery
This kind of puts it into perspective:

I found this on the White Rose Page:

1. "Economic Recover" --- for whom?
Articles about "economic recovery" are like those articles in "Parade" or "USA Today" about things like: "What WE like to eat at Christmas",
or "Why Americans Are Happier Than Europeans".

Totally meaningless and worthless - except as propaganda for the right.

3. I'm not sure how helpful this graph is...
In many ways it seems to reinforce the repub line that Bush inherited a faltering "tech-bubble" economy (reaching its "Keynesian" peak around inauguration, 2001) that was made worse by the Sept. 11 attacks and is now only beginning to recover...Rhonda Schaffler on CNN was running a story the other day on how 1.6 million jobs were never created because of 9/11 and the ripples from those attacks...something to ponder...

4. That's funny ?
It looks like a consistent upward rise during the entire Clinton years to me. What a coincidence! 96 straight months and it doesn't start to decline until Jr takes over?? Wht a coincidence.

5. That's not the point.
The point is that the "good" economic news that has been ballyhooed in the last week by the president is a minor blip when you put it in perspective.

6. Yep
Too bad Bush didn't do more to prevent the events of 9.11
