A series of shocking pictures revealing US soldiers tying up Iraqi women and children in their own home has provoked international outrage.

The occupying forces have now come under renewed fire for their treatment of ordinary Iraqis as shown in the pictures published today by Aljazeera.net.

CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is conducting an investigation and seeking advice before taking further action.

"This kind of image increases resentment of American troops in Iraq and can also play a major part in demoralising troops who are having to tie up small children.

1. Most of the voting class will have no problem with these pictures

It may be outrageous to the rest of the world, but the Crusade supporters, with their unslakable thirst for Muslim blood, will probably wonder why the soldiers are letting the kids off so easy.

2. The top two pix are old
Edited on Sun Nov-09-03 08:31 PM by party_line
I saw them here at least 2 months ago, maybe longer.

So I don't believe this:

This latest series of pictures was sent to US military headquarters Centcom in Florida for a comment. Major David Farlow warned Aljazeera.net not to publish the pictures on this site.
end snip>

AJ has this dated currently. Those pix were posted on DU.
Rats! I hate it when you can't trust the media.

Is there a way to search for an image? It may have been on the old DU

Old pics on DU are not stored on DU so they may no longer show

3. Heads We Lose, Tails We Lose
I expect many Americans would question the integrity of aljazeera as a news source ...

But, there are two possibilities here ...

1. the story is true ... and if so, it would make it impossible for the U.S. to convince the Iraqi people that "we're the good guys" ... can you imagine the terror those children would experience when confronted by soldiers with guns in their own homes !!

OR ...

2. the story is not true ... but this is a loser for the U.S. anyway ... aljazeera has much greater credibility in Iraq than U.S. news sources ... I wonder whether the U.S. press would even be allowed to cover this kind of activity ... the way they're covering up the killed and wounded soldiers returning to the U.S., I doubt it ... so, even if the story is fabricated, the U.S. will take another major hit in the propaganda war ...

and still we have democrats, and worse yet DU'ers, who argue that our military must remain in Iraq now that we've destabilized the country ... let me ask you this ?? if Iraqi soldiers came to your little part of the globe and started tying up you and your family in your home, would you want them to stay to complete "Operation American Freedom" or would you want them to get the hell out of your country ASAP ???

does "Operation Iraqi Freedom" include tying up women and children in their own homes ???
