1. Dean does just as well as anyone else
Why do people insist that he can't win then?

6. Because Dean has been getting a free pass in the press.
Even the ABC Note pointed this out the other day.

2. Can someone please explain Lieberman's #'s?
Is the country so out of touch that he is polling merely on name recog. alone? That many people can't seriously like this guy, can they?

7. People view Lieberman as having integrity.
With some of the stuff he has done that is very questionable but nonetheless that is the perception. For some people, integrity still counts.

3. Let's Get Those Numbers Up, Hah! Hah!
I think we all need to work to get the number of independent voters who wouldn't vote to re-select George the Lesser into the seventy percentile range! Then we should offer them help to the poling places.

I may be one of the more conservative people regularly posting on DU (I like Clark), but I think we all agree that the fellow occupying the White House and his allies in the House and Senate are a threat to the long-term as well as the short-term interests of our American republic.

4. Historical Precedents?
I wonder if there are any historical precedents to this poll. How many independent voters announced that they would NOT vote for former vice president Gore? The figures might be interesting.
