13. can't depend on congress to prevent this either..
as usual.... <snip>"If Congress and Bush reinstitute the draft, it would be the '60s all over again," predicts Lebow. "It's hard to imagine Congress passing such a bill, but then, look how many members of Congress just rolled over and played dead on the bill for $87 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan."

:(

If you are using windows like me.

One is to right click and bring up the 'source' then save the HTML stored in a text file in notepad. You can then always use a simple HTML editor and rebuild it or paste change the source on another page by copying and pasting.

or use a program like Flashget which will do the job. Much easier.

7. Isn't that interesting
When someone advertizes something and then, when it gets noticed, they remove it, it makes me wonder why they put it up in the first place. I mean, why advertize if, when the advertizing is actually working, you remove it?

I don't get it. And it's not just because of the controversy - they must have known it would be controversial when they first posted it.

14. I think that they didn't realize the media would pick it up.
How do you actually advertise for volunteers for the Draft Boards? Sunday classifieds?

on "this week" on ABC this morning. both the selective service call up and the subsequent disappearance of the website so hopefully someone noticed this and will keep on it.

12. Judas Stephanopolis carries the water... again.
On his Sunday show "This Week", George Stephanopolois discussed this issue and was quick to explain that this is just periodic, routine beaurocratic "maintenance". He said they do put out ads for help periodically and that it has nothing to do with plans to reinstate the draft.

Do YOU believe Georgie Stephanopolis or the Govt. wonks that fed him this line of crap? Hmm.... :eyes:

15. I read somewhere over the last week or 10 days that they
haven't manned those draft boards since 1967. Maybe someone has a link and remembers reading that too.
