For our National Day Of Service this month we collected food for the Thanksgiving Day Dinner sponsored by the Salvation Army in the greater Tampabay area.

Our group collected 31 bags of groceries from our local neighborhoods and presented them to the Salvation Army distribution center in Tampa on Saturday, where they will be boxed up along with other donations and given to various locations to feed those in need at Thanksgiving.

The thanks we recieved from the Salvation Army was more than any of us expected and we all walked away with a great sense of worth having helped those less fortunate.

We then gathered at a local restaurant to discuss the next Day of Service event which will be a blood drive in support of our troops.

I don't know if Clark will win the nomination and election or not, but his idea of a National Day of Service is a wonderful thing that everyone can and should be involved with in their community.
