hannity's lie of the day
(i'm sure they're are more, but i happened to overhear this one)

the gas station i was in about a half hour ago was torturing its customers with clearchannel's wonderful 'news' station.

sean hannity was playing bits of a recent al gore speech (intertwined with the so-called 'invented the internet' clip-sean can't let a good lie die) criticizing bush's policies inthe war on terra

he then went on with a spiel that gore 'actually thinks he won the election' and that he should listen to ralph nader 'who says gore needs to quit whinging about 2000'

of course, he conveniently leaves out the fact that nader was only referring to the talk of his role as a spoiler and that he went on to say: '"They should realize that the retrospect on Florida concluded Gore won Florida.......It was stolen from the Democrats. And they should concentrate on the thieves and the blunderers in Florida, not on the Green Party."

so sean tries to act like nader concurs that bush 'won' tthe election and that gore needs to 'get over it' and not criticize bush in any way, shape, or form whatsoever

yet more intellectual dishonesty from the lying liars at clear channel

1. Sure, you might as well expect Goebbels to tell the truth about Jews
(He also called them "Rats" -- another coincidence I'm sure -- just like the Busheviks call their enemies)

3. Hannity editing
Yep, Hannity edited Nader to suit his own needs. It's beyond dangerous and disgusting. It's just plain Wrong. We see this more and more in so-called "journalism" today---what's generally referred to "taking something out of context." It happens on the left, as well as on the right. The blow-hard moron Sean is just the latest example. Thus, I worry, in general, about the attention span of so many of our good citizens. By that I mean, whenever there is a suspect quote, it is up to ALL of us to do what is often done here on DU: track down the original quote, and note how it's been perverted. As opposed to just hearing it or reading it and accepting it as fact. Do too many Americans do the latter? You know they do.

I'm very thankful that there are diligent people out there who take note of things like this so that later---sometimes much later---the record can be brought to bear on the perpetrators of untruths.
