Which candidate has the best
chance of winning? I mean, seriously, all things aside (like your own personal feelings toward any candidate) which current Dem candidate has the best chance of winning?

If you think it's Sharpton, that's alright. If you think it's the write-in from Muskogee, George Johnson, that's cool. I am just trying to get a distilled view of who people think has the absolute best chance of winning next year.

My money is on Dean, eventhough I am a Clark supporter.

Brian

2. winning what?
if I might ask, because there are several 'stages' of winning required (or optional *) for someone to become our next president...

winning the support of the other nominees
winning the support of the DNC establishment
winning the support of the DLC
winning the support of the unions
winning the democratic nomination
winning the enthusiasm of Democrats
winning the attention of independents and swing voters
winning the popular vote
winning the electoral college
winning

3. Winning the POTUS
seeing as how Bush is not going to be any competition, which Dem is going to be in the WH in 04 (or 05 if you want to split hairs)?

4. He won't win the support of the DLC
given the contentious history between the Dean campaign and the old establishment in the DLC. The DLC is just upset because they're not the "king-makers" this time around...

8. There is still a year to go. ~~ A lot can happen in that time.
If the election were held tomorrow I would have to say Dean has to Big Mo. He has excited voters like no other candidate, even Bush*. Bush* doesn't excite voters. They fall into lock-step and cringe as they pull the GOP lever but still pull that lever. Dean has struck a chord that no other candidate has been able to strike. He speaks his mind plainly for all to hear and understand. Kerry is discovering that if he wants to be in contention then he has to quit being so careful. He seems afraid to let loose. Afraid he will turn off voters so wants to stay in the middle of the road. People no longer want a middle of the roader. They want someone with fortitude and honesty. I like Kerry and hope he finds his way soon but I feel Dean is "Da Man".

10. Can I choose myself? ;)
If it were based on my vote alone (I can dream, can't I?) I'd go with Kucinich. When reality strikes me I'd have to say Dean is going to take all.
