(Worcester, MA, October 6, 2003). Michael John Dobbins, a former teacher, quit his job to focus solely on defeating Bush next year. Due to Bush’s horrible record, Dobbins is building a citizens movement throughout the United States to take on Bush during the campaign. By using three different media outlets, he is accomplishing his task.
In August, Dobbins published “Stop Bush in 2004: How Every Citizen Can Help”, an action handbook to support Americans taking action in 2004. Gradually the book is climbing the Amazon.com sales charts. September brought his website, www.StopBushin2004.com. Every week the site is enhanced and expanded to fulfill Dobbins vision of a central action center during the campaign. Beginning October 13, Dobbins will utilize yet another source, a newspaper column with the Brattleboro Reformer. Once a week until Election Day, Dobbins will provide citizens with an effective action to help defeat Bush in 2004.
Dobbins states “I’m proud to have quit my job to initiate a campaign against Bush in 2004. Bush and his administration have clearly taken the country in the wrong direction and my fellow Americans and I won’t take it any more. While the Presidential Campaign may be months away, the citizens campaign is well underway and growing bigger day by day.”
As Dobbins anticipated, many citizens have signed on to take action through his campaign. By reading his book, taking action via his website, and using his column citizens are empowering themselves to be a factor in the 2004 campaign.
