Do you notice attack helicopters in your city?
Today at school (in Houston) I saw a military helicopter fly (low) overhead. This isn't an uncommon thing this year actually.

What I took note of though was a giant mounted machine gun sticking out of it. First time I really took note of the weapons on them. Creepy...

Has anyone else noticed such air craft appearing in other citys?

3. See 'em all the time
There is a National Guard base at the airport. Never saw weapons sticking out of them though. In fact, in the last round of attacks by the Iraqis(or whomever it is), two men who were stationed here got killed. Here is Davenport, IA btw.

and I agree with you, there are too damn many Iowans and all Americans getting killed over there for NO *^#!ING REASON. And glad to "meet" you, fellow Iowan. Ever go to BOG? Great bar, all blues, all the time. And I think Doc, the owner, is one of us.

4. no but
Dick Cheney did a fundraiser in Fargo when I worked there. It was at the hotel next to where I worked, and there was an empty lot between my workplace and the hotel. There were snipers on the roof of the hotel and we were warned not to cut across the lot that day if we didn't want to get shot.

6. Helicopters fly here in LA sometimes at 12:00/1:00/2:00 a.m.
And they are not military.

Most of my friends have noticed them as well. Youd be deafer than a door post not to.

Its loud, seems unecessary and unless there is some legitimate reason for these copters to be flying around, which Im sure they can find an excuse if it wasnt legit*, nobody from City Council has mentioned anything about it on the news or in the newspaper.

None of us can figure out the reason for these helicopters flying around at all hours, but one thing we do know is its loud, and a distraction. Not to mention it at 12:00 or 1;00 or 3:00 what are helicopters doing flying around, and not telling homeowners and the Chamber of Commerce(s) about?

13. uh, that would be the LAPD
how long have you lived in LA?

They're a constant presence in the air.

It'll drive you fucking nuts.

I used to live in the Hollywood Hills and I couldn't take it, every night the fucking LAPD helicopters thwacking through the air, circling, shining down their fucking spotlights.

10. Saturday afternoon in Denver
4 (dark green, Vietnam style) helicopters flew low and loud, in tight formation overhead, it was very odd. Probably nothing, but worth a note.

15. Interesting that you bring this up.
There was one over the north side of Chicago this afternoon. I thought it was odd and went outside to look.

16. I have seen increased activity here in Atlanta.
We occassionally see the military choppers flying around, but more frequently lately.

And we were in Columbia, SC this weekend, and there were a LOT of military choppers constantly. Big twin rotor Chinooks and others that I think are Black Hawks.

18. no, but weird military aircraft this weekend
big planes flying very low and at first very slow, seemed to be trailing something, circling, then saw one later going much faster. They were not on regular airlines paths, much much lower than anything else I've seen, a dull gray or green color. Very creepy... ANd the nearest AF base to us is pretty far away
