Dividing and conquering - the neocon way
I recently read an article from a site that at first glance seemed "out there," but as time goes by seems to make sense.

The argument was made that for generations the desire of the world wide wealthy has been to create the type of situation this country now finds itself in - divided to the core. On the one side is a group that clings to the false belief that revolution and change will create a better, more responsive government to the needs of ordinary people. On the other side are those that cling to the mistaken belief that being a Republican means being conservative - smaller government, fiscal responsibility.

Into the void walk those, through outright lies and fraud, and the massive inflow of money into their campaign coffers, who get elected to offices all over this country. Their allegiance is not to the voters, since they did not elect them based on their principles (their principles are not what was presented in their campaigns), but to the moneyed interests that have in effect employed them.

This is nothing new, but what I was struck with was the long-term nature of the plan, and its current success. Also, the "progressives" are being used as much as the "conservatives" to further their plans.

Divide and conquer.

Something to think about.
