I doubt if he would, almost certain he wouldnt but if Gore could run for Senate in 06, and win he could replace Daschle as minority leader. Then he would again be in power and we could have a real leader in power!

Thoughts?

1. I'd rather he concentrate on buying NWI
And give the losers at Fox a competing voice.

2. I am not sure he coudl win
I livein Memphis, and I dont think Gore could win. The state has gotten more red lately, and the CW is that Gore is too liberal. because of that, the local Dems wouldn't line up behind them. People think Frist could be vulnerable, and the Ford family and maybe even one of the Memphis mayors are starting to postion themselves for a run. I don't think Gore would do anything but divide the Dems.

Maybe in 2008

6. No. That's a bad idea
It will be like Nixon running for CA gov. 1962 all over again. It will just be seen as a stepping stone as a run for the presidency in 2008, and if he loses his political career is OVER. Let's look to the future in the Tennessee Democratic Party, and that points to Harold Ford.

9. Maybe not over. Nixon lost in 62,
I remember watching his quip as he was bording a plane after losing in 62. "you won't have Nixon to kick around any more." I remember laughing happily and saying to the TV set, "Bye." I guess we both spoke too soon. Tell Al to give it a try. What the heck?

7. Gore has a powerful message
it could be diluted by talk of Gore vs. Daschle, or Gore vs. the other dem candidates.

Gore's comprehensive critique of the Bush record so far was awe inspiring. Some of the stuff he said could have come from Chomsky, except that instead of indicting the U.S. system, it focused on the Bush administration.

Gore didn't say anything about himself or the dem candidates, he focussed on Bush.

8. We'd have better luck running him against Smith (OR) or Domenici (NM)
Send him out west to establish residence. TN is a lost cause.
