Just for the heckuva it-what about a dean/gore ticket?
What would be the positives? The negatives?

Would it be a winning ticket? Would gore run as a vp again?

1. I couldn't participate
...in humiliating the man who was elected president and then denied the position by relegating him to VP again. That's too much to even think about.

4. He would do a lot of good
I think Gore would do a lot of good as VP again, like getting the environment back on track for one. I think he should jump in and run for President personally, but I say take him any way you can.

2. Gore has too much dignity to be VP for another 8 years,
he deserves to be President.

6. Gore would never play second again.
Gore might accept an ambassadorship - say to the UN. His qualifications and areas of interest would leave him in good company with the international crowd.

7. Or perhaps he'd enjoy Secy of Energy or EPA..?
with a boss that gave him 100% free reign? Of course it would be a step down, but think of the fun he would have dismantling Cheney's Energy policies.. ;-) Like a retirement job.
