I saw a private photo of Bush at Walter Reed
A liberal friend of mine at work who has a brother in Iraq was sent pictures of her brother's wounded friend receiving a purple heart from Mr. AWOL (she said it was at Walter Reed). I guess he is visiting some of the wounded.

My goodness, closeup private photos of him are hideous. Michelle says her brother is a big chimp fan, even though Michelle brings up Bush's cuts in veteran's benefits, etc. When he showed Michelle the picture of Bush with his friend, he said, "See, he does care about us." And Michelle gamely replied, "He should, he sent all of you over there for no particular reason!"

1. W made one visit
a couple of months ago for a photo op and this was only after people started to pressure him publicly about this issue.

2. Wasn't that when he was there for his annual
prostate cancer test/check? Seem to remember that.

Not trying to be argumentative, but I really would have to see the picture first, to believe it. I can't help it, I just don't believe anything I hear.

4. There was a pic published
of him giving an injured soldier at the hospital a metal. Of course, the young man was white and good looking and very happy to see W.

5. No guys, this is very real
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 10:47 AM by Ishoutandscream
It is not my photo, it is two photos of Bush with Michelle's wounded friend. One picture he is pinning the purple heart with the friend's wife and another soldier standing by. The other picture is of Bush standing next to the bed smiling with the wounded soldier and his wife.

I don't think Michelle would like me to put this on the web because it is private. But you guys know who I am, and I am not making this up.

A good point about his prostate exam. Maybe he just decided to go over to the wounded wing and earn some points from the soldiers.

On edit - Michelle's brother's wounded friend.

6. OK IShout, I believe you. I wouldn't want you to post someone
else's private photo. I am smiling and waving at you. I don't know how to get those darn emoticons on my posts.

7. Believe me, I understand your skepticism
I wouldn't put anything past these criminals. But these were very real, and let me add, very creepy.

3. No. They're saving this shit up.
See, this is the risk of making the war the center of the campaign. This was the mistake McGovern made. Bush is in total control of the war.

They're making it look like they're incompetent now so that Democrats run an anti-war campaign and so that we all criticize our candidates with the best chance of defeating Bush.

Once we've picked our anti-war candidate, then Bush will turn the tables. They'll have testimonials fromt the soldiers he visited. They'll spin it to say they didn't publicize it back then because they were doing it for publicity, they were sincere (when the fact is, they were doing it for publicity, only it's more effective when you use it against the McGovern candidate who gets nominated, rather than use it when it's going to result in a Dem getting nominated who has a chance to beat Bush). And then they'll start talking about their secret plan to end the war, and they'll talk about how they're NOT implementing the draft after spending 8 months pretending they were going to have a draft.

Why don't more people realize what's going on?

8. Come on folks
A quick google search easily ends any speculation. Yes, W visited the wounded at Walter Reed on 9-11-03. When did W ever miss a good photo op?

Bush Visits with Wounded Soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital, September 11, 2003

(Says U.S. will stay at war until terrorist groups dismantled)

A new video tape purporting to be of Osama bin Laden, which is still being analyzed by the U.S. government, shows that the war on terror continues, President Bush said September 11 following a 90-minute visit with wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in Washington.
