Is there a single person in Congress with a son or daughter serving
in the armed forces on active duty? Or a grandson or granddaughter?

I think this would be something to barrage the mediawhores with on Veterans Day.

I googled this question but couldn't come up with an answer.

8. you're welcome, but please be a bit careful --
My quote says that Senator Johnson's son served in Iraq, but it doesn't say that no one else's did. I believe there is also a republican congressman, but I'm not sure who (okay, so that makes *two*).

I know you're right that very, very few in congress have children or grandchildren in Iraq, but you'll want to have your numbers right!

Good luck with your letters!

2. Off the top of my head...
I believe that Senator Johnson from SD has a son in the military. And, I think there is a republican congressman whose name escapes me.

That's completely from memory, though, so I could be mistaken.

4. I seem to remember a Congressman from Minnisota (I believe) has a son
in some branch of service but I do believe he is the only one. The well connected rairly have any children in harms way.

5. 1 or 2
but in general the ruling classes do not send their sons & daughters to the military. They leave the dying to "ordinary" people.
