toothpaste and menstrual pads/tampons - our military needs them |
|
a large box appeared at the grocery the other day. At a distance I thought it was for food donations for Thanksgiving. At close range I see it's a list of things to donate to the troops. things they need.
toothpast and tampons were on the list.

or didn't we just vote to spend a huge amount money to support the troops? Are these things considered extravagance? I have no problem sending stuff to them but I thought we were unpatriotic if we didn't want to spend this money.

4. Tax the rich and buy them. |
|
Why do they ask for charity from the people this administration has given none?
Why are corporations using "support the troops" to get their customers to buy more of their shit?
Something is very wrong here.
When this war started, Fox told everyone to buy phone cards and send them to the troops. There's something sick about that.
Don't get me wrong. I want the troops to be able to call home. However, ATT should be giving the troops FREE phone cards in exchange for all the money the government helps them make. They shouldn't be using their favority advertiser, Fox, to get middle class Americans to pay another DE FACTO TAX to help them profit off the war.

Crest, volume discount, I'm guessing $2/tube. Rounding up, let's say 200,000 soldiers. So we're talking $400,000 for toothpaste. 1 tube per soldier should last a couple months.
So our fucking measly skinflint bastard adminstration can't even pony up a measly fricking $400,000 for toothpaste? Cheney finds more money than that in his sofa cushions.
