NPR Reported bush* Doubled the Troops 'Death Benefit' from $6K to $12K |
|
I think they said he signed it today.
I was driving and my radio volume was low so I may have missed
details.
Just a Heads Up.
Will Iy Be Retro-Active? Damn Well Should be!!!
Question: Had they recently reduced it? Now they will claim they upped it?

get the other military-related services funded properly! this is a great start, although I thinkthat the payment amount should be *much* higher. How much did each 9/11 victim's family get again?
I believe that standard life insurance for all active duty personnel should be $250k + college funds of $75k for each child they have.

He's also establishing 3 new National Cemetaries and 6 Military Cemetaries (plus another one at Ft Campbell, KY) on the same bill.
That is his idea of compassion.
Edited for typo.

Bush tried to reduce it from 6k to 4k, but that didn't go over too well.

5. His administration knows they're being castigated... |

for their lack of actual support. He had to un-ass some money!
I can only hope it's not attached to some other deletrious legislation that we can't reject for fear of being accused of not supporting our Armed Services.

kicking and screaming all the way by the veterans. He has threatened to veto vets on just about everything at every turn. Only reason any of these things got thru is the Democrats have embarrassed them into it and the vets have really been on a rampage lately - driving Congress & the White House crazy - thanks to all of them for doing it.
