You (and Bush) are likely too dumb for this
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 03:19 PM by ProfessorPlum
Check out this a**wipe:

<snip>

If you’re an American, chances are there’s a celebrity who thinks you’re dumb. Maybe even stupid. Or an idiot. Or something worse, which we can’t print here.

Yes, show a celebrity an American, and that celebrity will show you an ignoramus.

</appeal to the common Volk>

Maybe if Joe 'Murcan' Sixpack would stop voting against his own self-interest, he wouldn't appear so stupid.

Also, note that this clown (who spends the whole article ridiculing celebrities, without putting forth one fact which would argue that Americans really are smart) produces for Hardball. Big surprise.

1. I wish ALL celebrities would shut up
On the Right and the Left.

Many of them have no more than a high school diploma, some not even that.

And I personally never run down Americans to others, just like I don't run down my own family to others.

2. Yeah! And I wish all people would just shut up
The last thing we need is more people shooting off their mouths... especially stupid people.

I say we all leave the talking to the president. He knows what's best for us. What qualifies a bunch of uneducated voters to talk about politics anyway? Let's leave it to the professionals.

--The above was neither of my 2 cents--

3. Admirable, I guess
but it doesn't change the fact that Americans are too uneducated to prevent themselves from being totally manipulated by the presstitutes and their corporate masters.

It isn't only celebrities who occassionally point this out - but they are the most fun to ridicule. See the link above.

4. I have a couple of problems with this article
First, that the author seems to think these celebrities are wrong... and that he takes offense at criticisms of bush. I suppose we all agree here that bush is bad... very very bad. But what about the other issue? I happen to find many americans very dumb. Worse, deliberately ignorant.

5. Well, color me whomper-jawed
An entire screed, hundreds of words long, excoriating celebrities and their dabbling in politics, and the words "Arnold" and "Schwazenegger" are nowhere to be seen. What are the odds?

6. Yeah, that's pathetic
I imagine someone's out there making the case that Arnie is NOT a celebrity. What a messed up world.

7. but Americans ARE really smart...
we invented nearly all the goodies in the 20th Century. I fail to see how DU knocking voters moves the needle in our direction.

OK, this writer offended me by selectively singling-out liberals and lefties while there's plenty of stupid, anti-populist rants stemming from right wingers.

But at the end of the day, we're dead in th water if we support the notion that Americans are stupid, because we're not.

We're as smart as any other nationality on the planet.

8. Exactly! This isn't a diatribe against celebrities
It's a diatribe about Democratic Celebrities.

Herr Gropenfuhrer, Oxycontin Rush, Bruce Wills and all the rest shouldn't shut their flatulent pie-holes. Only Democratic Celebrities should shut theirs.

This a disgusting piece of propaganda that is "fehrunbalinst" (which of course means it's a slanted piece of shit) written by the kind of Think-Tank Sleazebag Bushevik that increasingly passes for a piece of jounralism in Imperial Amerika.

Disgusting. If he was actually trying to do something other than whore for his Bushevik Masters, he would have mentioned Gropenfuhrer, Willis or Toby Keith.

Of course, there's as much chance of reading an old Julius Streicher article and expecting him to criticize the Nazi Party Leadership in the same article as he criticized those RATS (notice how the Nazis and the Busheviks use similar terms?), the Jews.

The EXACT same chance -- 0%.
