Two *more* Kerry campaign officials quit.
Two More Officials Quit Kerry Campaign

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites)'s press secretary and deputy finance director quit Tuesday, adding to the bitter turmoil on Kerry's team after the dismissal of his campaign manager.

Robert Gibbs, chief spokesman for the Massachusetts lawmaker, and deputy finance director Carl Chidlow quit in reaction to the firing of Jim Jordan, abruptly let go by Kerry Sunday night. Both expressed dissatisfaction with the campaign, according to officials.

Gibbs will be replaced by Stephanie Cutter, a former spokeswoman for Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and currently the spokeswoman for the Democratic National Convention, the officials said.

2. I mean not to badmouth Kerry's campaign--but how many
campaign managers has he had? Didn't he fire one some months ago, and then fire another one a day or two ago?

I'm confused.

Although I'm not a supporter of his, I hope things at least get better for him.

3. When Kerry started to stick to the issues last week
...instead of launching ad homs against his opponents, I thought he might have wised up and fired his DLC handlers, or at least stopped listening to them.

Since his new campaign manager is one of Ted Kennedy's guys, this does seem to be the case, and the first real sign of life I've seen from Kerry.

Kerry's a good man, better than even Dean in some regards. I'm glad to see him develop some backbone and kick the GOP-lite advisors to the curb.

If he gets the final nod, I won't even have to hold my nose to vote for him.

4. If he gets the nod...
... I will work my fingers to the bone for him. Despite my substantive disagreements with him on several issues, he is a 10000% improvement over * and his band of neo-con thugs.

5. Good riddance
It's time that the remainder of the dead wood jumped ship as well. This entire campaign staff has under-performed. Kerry's the class of this field, but he hasn't been served well by his staff.

Two months can be an eternity in politics. My money's on Kerry rising in 2004.

6. Maybe.
There's not much room left for him to go down much further, Lord knows.

7. Good riddance to bad rubbish
I'd love to see Kerry turn his campaign around. So far, it's been a pathetic campaign from what should be a strong candidate (deja vu from 2000 anyone?). Kerry needs to start playing to his strengths instead of trying to position himself as the un-Dean. With the right attitude, he could be the strongest contender in the field.

9. Yep!
He's got to give up his "Dean Bash-a-day" addiction, and get on his message, or he's toast.

10. This is either the beginning or the end
I agree that his staff has been terrible. If he turns things around in a hurry he's in good shape (unless the media keeps harping like they did with Gore). The Rock the Vote was the first time I've been impressed with him-he seemed very engaged.
