Reminder: Not all conservatives are against us...
Remember, the opposite of progressive is regressive. :)

2. Would you care to list the conservatives who are FOR us?
I can't think of one. I can think a few who share a concern or two with Progressives--but not a single one who is not "against" the Progressive movement.

I know that DU is becoming the-centrist-underground, but I am against the conservative agenda even if there are some conservatives who are not against Progressives.

3. I would think some actual conservatives might be for us.
Seeing how Bush has expanded the federal govt faster than any President in history, and pretty much shredded the bills of rights, and declared preemptive, never-ending war our new national pasttime.

5. You would think that wouldn't you?

So would I, if I for a moment believed the conservative movement was not based on hypocrisy and greed--but the truth is they are still helping to push the Bush* agenda. I think that for most conservatives, as long as they get tax cuts, and their money is not spent on the poor--they won't rock the boat.

To pretend self-described conservatives will EVER push a Progressive candidate at the price of a Republican is a little deluded.

8. I personally know two.....
But believe me, they are vastly outshoutted by their lamebrained ideological extremist cohorts. Too bad, too, because the two personal friends I'm talking about have some valuable input if things weren't so divided right now.

Just for the record, the two I'm speaking of have, to me, soundly come out against:

The Patriot Act

The Iraq War

Free Speech Zones

Lopsided political ownership of the media

Food for thought.

9. Maybe Pat Buchanan - he sure doesn't like Bush
I could see him secretly supporting some of the Dems against Bush.

6. As others have said, Bush and Cheney are not conservatives!
They are radicals! They want radical change 'by any means necessary'. They have no problem using mass violence on civilians to accomplish their goals.

That's not conservative.

7. I used to really dislike Charlie Reese. He had a column in our
state's repug newspaper for years. He could always write something to make me hot. I don't take the paper anymore but I can not imagine that they still carry him. A couple of months ago he came down on top of bush*'s head with a load of s**t and hasn't let up.

His perspective of the ME is right on also!

11. I am constantly surprised by who is "with us or against us"
Bruce Willis yesterday on Extra ranted about Bush being a good president and how we are rebuilding schools in Irak...yadda yadda yadda. Yet, I know that there are many sane conservatives who are not totally behind BushCo. Anybody with a shred of common sense can see that Bush is not leading this country for the people.

As I look at the polls with 50% approval ratings, I look at the people I see from day to day and I console myself with the knowledge that one of every two people I see is on our side--and I know that includes republicans not rethuglicons.
