Kerry - A Leader on National Security?
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 07:25 PM by Closer
And before there is an urge to bash and/or censor ME for posting this, you should know this comes from the Dean Campaign ITSELF! It's called politics people.

And this one here, is just too good to not pass around :-)
=============================

A Leader on
National Security?

"Who can take on George Bush and change the direction of the nation? John Kerry. A leader on national security..."

--John Kerry 2004 Television Advertisement Script

"I believe that I voted absolutely correctly."

-- John Kerry on voting for the Iraq War Resolution

Senator John Kerry and President George Bush seem to agree on at least one thing: A speech on an aircraft carrier is a fine substitute for leadership in the face of a failing war you supported.

4. Link?
There IS no link. This was just a statement that went out today responding to Kerry's ad. A very effective statement, too, I might add.

10. Not a press release or on the DFA pg or the BFA
Likely just a comment entry from a supporter and NOT from the Dean Campaign

11. No
It's FROM the Dean campaign. I get the "media advisories" sent to me every single day from the campaign.

2. Gary Hart on Dean and National Security: Dean said "Gary, what do I do?"
Gary Hart, one of the top national security experts said Dean and Lieberman can't handle foreign policy. Lieberman had Bush's sense of foreign policy and Dean has NO grasp of foreign policy. These men have called Hart to help them in the past and Hart knows them and their positions well.

Hart recently endorsed Kerry. But what does the author of the Hart-Rudman report know about national security?

17. Ignore Hart. Bush ignored the Hart-Rudman report on terrorism.
So, I'm sure it's a good thing for our nation and the world if more people like you mock and ignore Hart along with Bush and Cheney.

5. Talk about leading in the wrong direction.
If any candidate wraps himself in the flag or the bible, I cross them off my list immediately and don't look back. Come to think of it, that doesn't leave many.

Iraq was/is a painful experience for the world, a humiliating experience for Americans, and Iraqis, and French, and Germans, and Russians, ... , and anyone that had a part in it should be ashamed.

6. Yep, voted absolutely correctly...
If you like giving the green light to war in Iraq to a bunch of neo-cons who have shown eagerness to invade Iraq for years, hate the UN, said they'd go in without the UN, and offered only unrealisticly optimistic scenario's for what will happen when we invade, while offering no plan for post-Saddam Iraq...

9. Bash Dean. Again, and Again. That's the Kerry campaign.
He would have voted against the IWR like he said, and then continue to stand up against Bush like he proceeded to do following the vote.

12. Um excuse me but this is a pic from the Dean campaign site bashing Kerry
the convenient thing for Dean is that he didn't HAVE to make a decision so his record is easy to defend.

and Dean is on it being quite clearly against the war...

and people labelled him unelectable for opposing it?

29. Yes..I also realize he did so from the safe position of not being in the
senate with 85% of americans believing the propaganda lobbed by the Bush admin. Frankly, nobody KNOWS how it would have gone were it Senator Dean versus Governor Dean.

13. He was against the war when it wasn't cool
Kerry KNEW it was wrong and voted for the war thinking it would help his presidential bid.

When Dean came out against the war, ALL THE PUNDITS wrote him off and said that would be the END of his career.

19. If you say so
I heard Howard say give Saddam 30-60 days and then go in unilaterally. If that wasn't his plan to deal with Iraq, what plan did he have? And containment and sanctions aren't a solution, the Iraqi people were dying because of them.

Yeah much better to invade a friggin country and plunge it into chaos for the unseeable future...

26. It was in chaos
because of sanctions, because of us. We should have left it that way forever?

This is George Bush's war. He didn't have to go to war. He didn't have to go alone. He didn't have to go without a plan to secure the country. He didn't have to lie about the need for the war. It's HIS war.

34. Weapons proliferation
I'll just keep posting it until I die. Out of the blue, in 15 years, when DUer's least expect it, I'll post about weapons proliferation. The war vote was about getting the UN to take its weapons inspections responsibility seriously in order to have authority to stop weapons proliferation. Kerry has been talking about it since 1997.

And the war is a dumbshit war because of the way the dumbshit Bush chose to execute it.

37. How do you know?
Were you a secret UN inspector, covering every inch of ground, going in underground locations, with access to palaces and other Iraqi military and stategic compounds?

We got inspectors in there and we needed to do it and that's what that vote, with the threat of force, accomplished. Bush lied and bungled the rest of it afterwards. You know that.

Howard Dean didn't disagree with the need for inspectors either. He just won't say how he would have accomplished it.

15. Hmmmm
This makes me wonder if Kerry wasn't set up. Last week (I think) Dean stated that he would be using footage of Bush* on the aircraft carrier for a commercial. Suddenly, Kerry already has one ready to air. Maybe Dean did this on purpose to goad Kerry into using his announcement speech in ads juxtaposed to Bush*, so he could use it as a comparison, not as a contrast (like Kerry will). Interesting...
