Bush-Hating Ultra-Liberal Raises Bush Fundraising Stakes
Several key GOP officials said Dean is providing a powerful new incentive for conservatives to raise and give money, and they predict Bush will raise $200 million by summer.

"As Dean consolidates as the front-runner, you have a whole new motivation for people to give beyond just affection for the president," a senior campaign adviser said. "Our people will see we're running against a Bush-hating ultra-liberal and they'll say, 'I've got to raise another 20K for the guy.' "

2. They would say this about any Democrat front runner
Dean isn't ultra-liberal, as we know. But whoever runs against Bush will be painted with the 'ultra-liberal' brush, because Bush runs on hate, fear, and lies.

3. Or...
people will see that Dean is willing to speak the truth about the miserably failing Bush policies and give their money to him. It's pathetic that an incumbent would even need $200 million in a re-election bid. All Dean needs is enough to get his message out--perhaps more than $45 million, but certainly not $200 million.

5. which means they are really worried about Dean
if he were really going to be such an easy opponent, why would they all be panicking?

I'm starting to think that Dean's the guy, maybe a Dean/Clark ticket.

6. They're Worried Less About Dean
And more about continuing their financial windfall from the corrupt Shrub administration. If he goes down, they do too and they know it.

10. Exactly...
at least this is what the article makes me think. Dean comes across as forceful, intelligent--Presidential. The 'pubs are going to need every penny of that $200 mil. This is not a good sign. Next to him, or any of the Democratic candidates for that matter, the shrub looks like an escapee from the monkey house at the zoo. Chitters like one, too.

It's unbelieveable that Howard Dean, the fiscal conservative, could be called "ultra-liberal".

24. No
But they need to be shown over and over until 'they' get it ..

How many muricans do you think know that he just sat there for 20 or so mins while our nation was under attack? And then true to form, went awol .. there is sooooo much to this story. One of the pages from the pics took me to a washingtonpost story about the shadow government that was set up hours after the attack. Isn't that convenient?

The good news is a year ago only conspiracy 'nuts' were talking about this stuff..

On 9/11/2001 I wanted Bill Clinton to be there to take care of things. I know he had his problems, but he has that 'safe' feel. I missed him so much. Quite the opposite from the 'leader' we had that day .. >sigh< ..

13. * always looks so 'patriotic and holier-than-thou' in those pictures.
And, I believe it is an insult to the rest of the world to be wearing the American flag on your person as a U.S. official...ESPECIALLY as president. To me, it says to the rest of the world, "We're the biggest, the bestest, the baddest...in short, we're better than you...and, you better watch out!"

Most Americans secure with their patriotism don't feel the need to wear the flag on their lapel for added assurance and public display.

What a friggin' phoney! And, I believe Gephardt called him that, too.

Why can't most Americans see this fraud and criminal for who he really is?

BTW, he's not wearing a Cross in this photo...so, he must not be a real 'Christian', eh? :eyes:

:argh:

20. My letter to the Post:
For months I've been wondering what justifies George Bush relentlessly hitting up oil companies, drug makers iraq contractors and other special interests for hundreds of millions of dollars.

And now, thanks to The Washington Post, I know the answer. The former governor of Vermont is making him to do it.

Thank God. At first I was afraid Bush was raising all that money as payback for his environmental policies, deregulation, huge tax breaks for his donors, or maybe even that earnings generating war in Iraq. Then I thought he might be raising money to buy expensive ads to convince us things are a lot better under his watch than they really are.

Thank you, Washington Post, for helping the White House tell us where the blame really lies: With that awful money grubbing Howard Dean.

Best,

John H_________

22. So, should we run a candidate who likes Bush* more
So that Bush* will raise less money? Perhaps if we run someone who loves Bush* maybe they will stop giving him money altogether..

Regardless of who we run the Bush* fear machine will crank up to pull in the money.
