How to win in Iraq: Fake it 'tll ya make it. (Rant)

Well, Shrubbie got at least one of the AA slogans right. Fake it 'till ya make it. This is for those white knuckle days when it's all falling apart around your ears, and you have to go on. Sometimes doing the next right thing will get you back on track, even if you're not feeling it inside.

The thing is, he used it to justify a policy of gradual domination of the world's oil resources. We don't have a good enough reason to invade. Well, let's fake it until things are such a mess that we can justify our presence to a populace with a short memory and a strong desire to avoid the appearance of failure. Classic dysfunctional alcoholic family BS: "Dad got drunk again last Saturday and forgot to lock the door. The house got broken into, and the rent money got stolen, at least that's what he said, so now he has to go beat up Mr. Farhad because Mom said he was looking in the window the other day, and everybody knows he's a friend of so-and-so, who stole Mrs. Jone's lawn ornaments and killed her dog."

That's what's going on. All this business about Al Quaeda in Iraq. Foreign terrorists using Bagdhad like some kinda alien bar from Star Trek, where they all make their stops in to have a shot with Saddam before blowing up the next western target. This is the precursor to the "flypaper theory", which was a stroke of PR genius.

Anyway, this is what we're up against. They're fakin it, and they have all the means at their disposal (a complacent media and populous) to pull it off unless they completely blow it. God, please let us oust them!
