London refused Shrub's request to
shut down central London for several days, thank God.
Bush will be traveling with an entourage of 775 people on three planes. Could he be more egotistical?

28. Yes, the Darth Vader Theme would make a good Imperial Nat'l Anthem
It seems so wrong that Imperial Amerika should continue to use the national anthem that was used by the Old American Republic.

Oh well, the Busheviks do encourage the illusion of liberty among their subjects...

5. 775?
Lawdy, what is he doing, invading those poor people?

Not to worry, though: By the time he leaves them, he will have completely eradicated the last shards of goodwill he has over there.

9. Now, now...(waving finger...)
I am certain that our British friends will show Mr. Bush all of the respect he deserves.

I am equally certain that he will respond with the grace and good character expected of the current leader of the free world.

And I am equally certain that, since he will be both unable to go to a fund-raiser for three whole days and that he will be roundly booed, jeered and demonstrated against for the same period of time, he will sit on Trafalgar Square at noon on the third day, douse himself in gasoline (I don't want none of that petrol junk; give me good old American gasoline made from stolen Iraqi crude) and self-immolate.

He will have severe withdrawls from no fundraising for 3 days, no "republican love" flowing like water and the idiot is in for something the likes he's NEVER seen! I just hope we get to see the people dropping their drawers, in HIS honor, of course. :7 I know our UK friends don't want him to feel like they don't CARE about him. He will witness their ASSULATION...errr....uhhhh....I mean adulation!

I'd like to know how that compares to previous President's visits to Britain. Not that Shrub doens't think he's a King, but some sense of scale would be useful.

BTW, a friend in the State Department told me that when he was in the US Embassy in an East Asian country Bush Sr. brought both Barbara AND his girlfriend along! yes, he was having a long-term affair. Guess she looked a bit like Barbara, and was a REAL bitch to the Embassy staff.

I'm surprised they could find 775 people who would WANT to travel in his "entourage".

14. Anti-war protestors are AL-QAEDA!!!! No freedom of speech!
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_world/view/56846/1/.html

(snip)
LONDON : Al-Qaeda terrorists using the cover of anti-war protests are a real threat to the safety of US President George W. Bush during his state visit to London next week, Britain's most senior policemen have warned.

"We are not so concerned about some anti-war protester throwing rotten fruit at the president. Our worry now is the more dangerous elements who may be here," said a senior Scotland Yard source quoted in The Times newspaper Wednesday.

18. Bush doesn't get what he wants?!?
Yes! I am very happy to hear that they will not shut down a top international city because Bush is too scared to face real people. Besides, I didn't think anyone had a bigger entourage than JLo : )

In a way, the US and UK have never been closer. Their leaders are staunchly pro-war in Iraq while the majority of their people (increasing by the day in the US)do not support the war.

I'm sorry, that should have read "their leaders are staunchly pro-Iraqi freedom". Which of course makes the rest of us traitors. Traitors, unite! I can't wait to see the reaction to Bush's visit. Makes us proud, UK! We're with you.

of insulating highly unpopular royalty from the masses... and this visit will likely be no different. AWOL is in for a drubbing... tony blair is a liar and a poodle, and the british people are really pissed at being used by a criminal miscreant.

Protest in sedgefield instead when bush visits tony blair's constituency. It is rural small town england, and much more likely your presence will make an impact.

It is blair's "crawford" and AWOL is obliged by diplomacy... plus the british press have been rather free with the president's schedule... Sedgefield is AWOL's bane. Best he stay away, or the Dragon will catch him and eat him. ;-)
