Italy deaths prompt pull-out demands

Berlusconi says Italy will not be deflected from its task
The deaths of at least 14 Italian troops in Iraq have sparked demands for the 3,000-strong force to be pulled out.
The government insisted the mission would continue, but opposition leaders said the UN should take over.

"The Italian servicemen must come back home. It is the only right thing to do now," said Pietro Folena from the Democrats of the Left.

"Italy should realign itself with France and Germany, withdraw its troops and start a debate with the USA and UK for them to stop their occupation.

and who can blame them???? Pretty soon, it will be only US troops, weekend Reserves and Guard and the Boy Scouts in this insanity. Everyone else is leaving.

5. I like this quote from the BBC page....
In the face of this huge tragedy, I will ask only one question: in whose name have they been sent to death?

Oliviero Diliberto
Communist leader

6. I was waiting for when this would happen. 16 dead today.
The Italians will pull out, like Spain, like the UN Embassy, like the Red Cross...there is total anarchy in Iraq and anyone is fair game.

7. I hope they do
go home. The more countries to pull out, the more people will MAYBE wake up and see this invasion for what it is. A Disaster and a lie. MABE they will start questioning it?
