1. Can't use Saudi forces
Yikes, talk about bin Laden getting tipped off before hand. Like we could trust the Saudis. And how would we force them to help? I think we need to sever ties with Saudi, not get help from them.

2. Now that al Qaeda is attacking muslims in Saudi Arabia,
they might be tempted to cooperate. A booby-trapped Quran? That definitely wasn't aimed at Westerners in SA.

4. his main point is this
the Saudis let this grow into the mess it is now. they are now under attack themselves the least they can do is start putting themselves at risk to clean up this mess.

3. I think we should use a multilateral approach...
The US, Saudi's, Israeli's, Afghans, etc.. The object is to get him, if he is still alive, and the more we have on our side, the better it will be.

Big point though, is to ensure the dedication of those that are willing to join the search. Obviously, the 'intelligence groups' should be small, with the 'attack groups' finding out the location only when on the move to the locationm.

Bush & Co made a serious error in judgement in not getting him in the first place. The only options left open to bush wasd covering the mistake with an attack on Iraq. While this was most certainly part of the scenario from the beginning, bush had to move forward quickly to cover his own ineptitude.

Clark wanting to bring people TOGETHER to fight a common enemy - that's an idea our current president hasn't thought of...Its exactly what I want to hear out of a candidate. No bashing other candidates, just possible solutions. That's what our country needs - a leader with solutions!

I'd like to hear what other candidates would do to catch this guy.

6. Very Interesting Approach...Could Work
You know, I'm pretty dubious when it comes to anything good coming from Saudi Arabia besides the base product for gasoline, but if this idea was implemented properly, it could be a very impressive twist to capturing bin Laden.

Why? How? Well, first off we have to remember that Saudi Arabia is a country that is deeply divided along clan and geographic lines. Powerful families in western Saudi Arabia (Jeddah-Medina-Mecca) have been vying for more power from Riyadh and the al-Saud for the better part of two decades. At the same time, the al-Saud are going to do just about anything to keep an increasingly slippery grip on their power. If you could find some Saudis from a clan opposed to bin Laden they could help out quite a bit, though I don't know how much help they could provide if paired with U.S. troops in the field. Seems covert operations would work better.

Or, given bin Laden's Yemeni ties, how about recruiting Yemenis for the job? Yemen is even more tribally divided than Saudi Arabia.

7. Time magazine had an interesting story
a few months ago about that bigwig they captured in Pakistan who looked like John Belushi in his undershirt.

Anyway, we flew him to Afghanistan and put him in a jail that was supposed to look like Saudi Arabia. The idea was to scare him into thinking he would be tortured or executed by the Saudis.

To our shock, he was happy to be there, and almost immediately gave the fake "Saudi" guards phone numbers of people who would get him out of prison. He said they were Saudi Royal family, and weren't we surprised when the numbers checked out.

Anyway, you're not going to catch Osama by surprise using Saudis.

The article also said they thought they knew where he was in some valley in the Tribal Region of Pakistan where the Pakistani government doesn't dare go.

11. Not sure
I may still have it around the house.

I did a yahoo search and here's the main story

http://informationclearinghouse.info/article4817.htm

Start with the paragraph that begins "A Pakisyani intelligence officer..."

Also, I think the John Belushi guy was Khalid Sheikh Muhammed. This guy was Abu Zubaydah. They are the two biggest catches so far.
