Kerry has a Pop up ad!
http://image73.eguard.com/johnkerry/22286-2/content22286-0.html

Imagine my shock when I was Googling for a kids' book author and this popped up!

Any opinions on this? I'd not stopped to think about pop-up campaign ads. Maybe Earl and Skinner should take advertising!

1. I'm kicking this up for comments.
Has anyone else seen this ad, and what do you think of popups for campaigns?

2. Popups are annoying crap, they rank up there with spam.
What a stupid campaign tactic.

3. Agreed, bad tactic
A great deal of people use programs to stop pop-up ads and even remove banner ads from webpages (myself included). Those who don't or haven't figured out that there are free programs for this probably rarely actually read the ads, since they're probably bombarded with them. If they do happen to read them, it may just turn them against a candidate that would allow advertising this way.

I love the ad, but not in the form of a pop-up.

6. Didn't Dean Use Spam?
I vaguely remember that. As far as pop-ups, I have a mechanism to stop them (thank God). This was a pretty hard hitting message, though. I was kinda surprised at how aggressive it was. Cool.
