I don't even know why they bother with these "briefings" -- it's a charade. David Gregory is trying his best to get something out of McClellan by citing the $87 billion the American people have just invested. "Taxpayers have the right to know what the policy is. Does the president determine the future of Iraq, or do the Iraqi people determine the future of Iraq?"

does serve a purpose, it makes him and, by proxy, his master look totally inept and inadequate. It is not, by far, the best way for the media to get to the truth but it is one of what should be many ways.
