Sen Bill Frist's website poll (Freepers losing today!)
http://frist.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=Home.Home&PollsPoll_id=4

So far on today's poll about the "Healthy Forests Initiative" it looks like sanity is prevailing, i.e. Freeps losing! Oh, and the question is definitely worded to elicit the GOP-approved response.

I'm going to bookmark this site and keep Sen. Frist informed of my opinion.

2. Frist is speaking in the Senate right now
C-Span2. I wonder if he'll mention the previous poll on the judges?

3. That's a heck of a result!
Me thinks some voters are PAYING ATTENTION for once.

Should the Senate pass the President's Healthy Forests initiative to protect the nation's forests from heightened threats of wildfire?

YES: 24%
NO: 76%

2027 total vote

Some criticisms leveled at this legislation:

* The plan does not put enough emphasis on protecting residents from immediate risks.
* Increased logging called for in the plan could actually worsen the problem of forest fires.
* The plan could limit public input into Forest Service decisions.
* The plan could limit use of the courts to challenge the legitimacy of fuel reduction projects.

Will we ever see the following poll:

Should the Senate pass the President's Healthy Forests initiative to provide the timber/lumber industry access to our national forests so as to "thin" the trees, thereby increasing the threat of wildfires after dense undergrowth grows in place of mature trees. But note that timber company stock owners will benefit!

5. I guess they didn't like the results so they started over
Last I checked the total votes was over 8000. Now it's down to 700. And the NOs are even LARGER.
