What if Bin Laden is dead?
What if the reason we haven't caught him is that he has died. I'm only saying this in if he is dead and that is why Shrub never has caught him, then the Dem who is president next will never catch him either.

1. He's alive, or was at least a year ago
The most plausible scenarios that bubble up to us in the viewing public suggest that he survived Afghanistan, but is having lots of medical difficulties. He may (or may not) have been wounded in the bombing around Torabora, but his health (the rat's on dialysis) was always his weak spot.

He's sent some messages out after the Afghan fight, but he's not the robust bean pole of a man you see in the CNN news reel clips. Honestly, 9/11 strikes me as being the work of a man who thinks he may be dying.

3. If he's dead, then he rides through the mountains on a white stallion...
...shooting thunderbolts out of his ass that knock our helicopters out of the sky.

At least that is what the legend will become if no proof of his death is ever found.

Maybe Bush shouldn't have acted as his PR agent after 9/11? Sometimes people are made more important by what enemies they acquire. It was Bush who made bin Laden so important. From what I've read, Zawahri seems like the brains of the operation anyway. Bin Laden always seemed a bit flaky to be Dr. Evil.

15. Doctor Evil was pretty flaky.
I think they need to never catch Sadaam and Osama. It's hard to find good comical bad guys these days. Who will they use to scare the American people if they drag these guys in to face "justice"?

They seem to be able to protect these former CIA assets better than they too care of Valerie Plame.

These people are indeed approaching despotism. I hope someone in the administration still knows enough about the great ideal of America to help end our long national nightmare.

4. So?
If he's dead, then Dimbo can't "catch" him in time for 2004. It will be a debate point during the election in favor of the Democratic candidate and few will care after next November outside the CIA.

5. It is best for Bush if he remains at large
If he is never found and one of those videos happens into Al Jazeera'a hands every once in a while, all the better. Whats the point of a boogy man if he is found to be nothing but a coat in the closet? He might be dead, he might have been captured, but it is best that he is at large. Better for the propaganda mill. A dead body is not NEARLY as scary as a phantom terrorist.

6. those tapes and videos ?
how about those tapes and videos of him which include recent events ? i guess that's how we usually find out if he is alive. but as another poster said it is in bush's interest , at least until the 2004 elections are near or over to not find bin laden. suppose they were to find bin laden or already had done so, do you really think terrorism would have stopped ? what is bush's excuse then ? in bin laden and saddam bush has someone to point to as the bad guy, the evil etc. but with them captured or dead and terrorism STILL going on it would more so point to bush's failures.

7. He's like Emmanuel Goldstein in 1984
It doesn't matter if he's alive or dead. He's there as a focus of hatred and a ready-made fall guy should anything go amok.

8. I suspect him to be alive still
if only because Bush is so bloody incompetent that he can do nothing right. In th elong run it really doesnt matter whether Osama lives or dies as this has gone beyond one man regardless of his wealth or position.

13. Then he's dead...
The fact that he's dead doesn't make Bush a good president.

18. IMO he is dead
He could prove that he is alive easily enough, but he has not. If he is still alive, he is a running scared bitch.
