I had a dream last night.

I dreamed about an American born to wealth who fought bravely to save the lives of wounded comrades in his patrol boat in the Pacific during WWII.

I dreamed about a man who, although racked by pain throught his life, never once complained.

I dreamed about a man who wrote "Why England Slept" before WWII and won the Pulitzer Prize.

I dreamed about a man who decided to run for office because he felt he could make a difference, in the House and then in the Senate.

I dreamed about a man who as President asked Americans to serve their country in third-world nations for the cause of Peace.

I dreamed about a man who, as a Catholic, declared his allegiance to the American people, and not to the Pope or any other religous group.

I dreamed about a man who accepted public blame for the Bay of Pigs fiasco, an operation set in motion just prior to his election by his opponent for the Presidency.

I dreamed about a man who was the first President to go on national television and support the entrance of blacks into southern universities - and knew it would cost him politically in his bid for reelection.

I dreamed about a man who, along with his future Conservative opponent for reelection, looked forward to healthy debates on their philosophical differences as a learning experience for the nation.

I dreamed about a man who called for peace, not a Pax Americana, and not imposed by Pre-emptive force.

I dreamed about a man who, with proof of ballistic missiles in Cuba, confronted the Soviet Union with the evidence at the U.N. and told the TRUTH about this threat to the American people on national television.

I dreamed about a man who, virtually single-handedly, avoided a possible nuclear holocaust by negotiation, rather than allow himself to be swayed by his gung-ho, hardline military and civilian advisors.

I dreamed about a man who rejected Operation Northwoods, a plan by the military to sacrifice American lives as a pretext for an invasion of Cuba.

I dreamed about a man who was ready to begin to end the cold war by working for peace with the Soviet Union and Cuba.

I dreamed about a man who would never have allowed America to get bogged down in an unwinnable war in Viet Nam, and would have pulled the troops out in 1965.

I dreamed about a man who made us proud to be Americans each and every day in office during a Presidency and life cut short by the forces of evil.

I dreamed about a man whose death marked a turning point in this nation's history, as the fascist forces of darkness began to overtake the liberal dreams of our forefathers.

I dreamed about a man who, were he alive today, would not hesitate to speak truth to power, and who would explain to the brainwashed people what true liberalism is all about..

I dream about a man whose assassination is still being covered up by the media forty years later, even though the vast majority of the American people believe in conspiracy, as did the House Select Committee on Assainations in 1977, which was forced by physical evidence (acoustic and Zapruder film) to conclude that at least four shots were fired. Yet the the fiction that Oswald did it alone is still perpetrated on the American people.

We can handle the truth. It is our leaders who no longer can.

2. Wonderful dream

I think of JFK often too. In the early summer, my local CON radio station, owned by ABC, reported that JFK had an affair with an intern forty years ago. They repeated the story along with the talking heads on the networks ad nauseum basically linking Kennedy to Clinton. Of course, the reports of his health problems was also an attempt to weaken his image too. They keep trying to diminish his greatness and attempt to replace his legacy with contrived images of people like Reagan and, God help us all, Bush. They don't seem to understand that greatness is not manufactured.

I saw, on Veterans Day, the Arlington National Cemetery and I wondered--really wondered--how long it will take before they lobby to extinguish the eternal flame.

I also found myself wondering whether JFK Jr.'s death was really an accident. I'm so suspicious of CONs now, I wouldn't put anything past them. I think JFK Jr. would have eventually landed in politics and of course he would have blown them out the water. They couldn't afford to let that happen.

Read it.

I had to read it in chunks -- couldn't handle it all in one fell swoop. But it was well worth the effort.
