I think Sen. Boxer needs to drop the list of groups |
|
who are against Judge Kuhl. Its great to show howw many group are opposed to her nomination but as she repeats it, it seems like she is following special interests on who to nominate and not nominate. It is opening her up a strong rebuttal in my opinon. What do you all think?

1. I think it is important to show these groups and I think Boxer is doing a |
|
bang-up job.
She is an eloquent, intelligent woman.

4. I don't think it's a problem |
|
I think she's doing a great job tonight. Special interest groups are against Kuhl it's the truth. I think Boxer would be against Kuhl regardless the woman's history stinks.
I belong to some of the groups on the left that are mentioned by various Senators in their debating and that's a part of how my voice is heard I'm for it.
I say give em' hell Senator Boxer and thanks!

5. special interests shouldn't be lumped together |
|
The ACLU and the Ford Motor Company are each sometimes described as "special interests," but it's one thing for politicians to listen to people speaking out for their principles because they make good arguments, and another thing to listen to a corporate lobbyist because of a donation.

6. Are these quotes real? - sent to me by someone I don't know... |
|
"What this does to a judge's life is, it leaves them in limbo-I should say, a nominee's life-whether they have a place to live, whether they are going to make a move. It is our job to confirm these judges. If we don't like them, we can vote against them. That is the honest thing to do."
— Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D. Calif.), Congressional Record, 9/16/1999.
"The Constitution is straightforward about the few instances in which more than a majority of the Congress must vote: A veto override, a treaty, and a finding of guilt in an impeachment proceeding. Every other action by the Congress is taken by majority vote . . . Democracy means majority rule, not minority gridlock."
— Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D. S.D), Congressional Record, 1/30/1995.

I suspect the anon email I got was not based on facts but meant to blow smoke up my rear end. I was in a usenet argument against confirming these people based on facts and caught all kinds of hell.

and both sides do this, which is wrong. hypocritical for either side to paint the other as doing something "new" or "wrong", they both do it when they don't get their way...

|
If you are too acidic or alkaline then you get put aside and rinsed until you become neutral.
