LANDRIEU IS GOING OFF at the Republicans
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 08:45 AM by La_Serpiente
Is there another thread? Just wondering.

She said that she was just about to vote for Pryor until the Republicans put out the ad saying that Democrats were anti-catholic. She was catholic herself and she didn't like the ad. She said she is going to wait until the Republican National Committe says sorry for the advertisement.

1. Snapping?
I thought she was BRILLIANT!

She said that right-wing ads that say "Catholics need not apply" to the halls of justice are offensive to her because SHE IS a CAtholic and her father and sister are Catholic judges. Therefore, she changed her mind and decided not to vote for Bush nominees.

She said the ads are anti-American, anti-Democratic, especially at a time when men and women are dying in Iraq. She said that the Republican leadership needs to denounce and repudiate such right-wing ads.

I was PROUD of her today.

She is now talking about Pickering being a member of the Miss. Sovereignty Commission, which intimidated blacks and white supporters of civil rights for blacks. She says she is from a civil rights family and refuses to support anyone who was affiliated with the Sovereignty Commission.

I should change the wording.

I think I wanted to use a word that displayed anger.

consider it changed.

However, SHE WAS JUST BRILLIANT....THIS IS THE BEST SHOWING OF DEMOCRATIC SENATORS ...IT COULD EVEN BE BETTER THAN SCHUMER'S SHOWING.!!!!

4. She was tough, wasn't she!
I was very proud of the senator from the neighboring state. Maybe we will have a Dem senator when Moore whips Lotts ass in the next election. :-)

5. Didn't she, though.
She did a great job...better than many I saw through the night. She spoke with guts and conviction.

6. Harkin is doing a good job as well
But it is kind of hard to do it after Landrieu's performance.

8. Well, if she's a Catholic, how could she possibly support ANYTHING
Bush and the Republicans do? To me this seems childish and not heartfelt. How can any good catholic support the filth put up by this administration?

And his whole family.
