Poor Repubs in a tizzy about lack of interest in Hannity Memo
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=10801

SEAN HANNITY'S big scoop is not generating the headlines it ought to. The memo Hannity obtained and made public that details the plans by Democratic staff on the Senate Intelligence Committee to politicize the committee's investigations in the service of partisan politics far overshadows in importance Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld's memo pushing the Pentagon to think about the hard problems ahead in the war on terrorism, but it has received significantly less attention than the Rumsfeld memo did.

Poor babies. Probably because it's not news to begin with.

2. Naw... It's Because They Need To Take A Class...
in reading comprehension while the rest of the general public does not.

3. politicizing the war: That's what the GOP's been doing since 9/11
politicizing security policy (and everything else) in the interest of partisan politics. So what's the right-wing extremists' problem?

4. They would have been more interested had it not really worked on Dems'
behalf. Hannity opened a bag of worms and the info actually worked against the Repugs and not against the Dems. Who really doesn't want to know how the pre-war intelligence was used by the WH leading up to the invasion?

5. The article reads like it was written by a schizophrenic.
I think right-wingers have been able to blow everything out of proportion for so long, that they've lost perspective. In the past they were able to make a big deal about how much someone paid for a haircut or where they got the haircut, but I think the media has bigger fish to fry these days.

The memo strategy failed Hannity and the Repubs because everyone knows that an investigation is warranted and everyone already suspects that the Bush Administration will not come out of this unscathed. They did themselves more harm by trying to use the memo to overshadow an investigation which needs to be conducted. It's going to be painful for the Republicans, but it is the right thing to do for America. And America should be their priority.
