Dr.Dean on the AFSCME-SEIU endorsements.....
"It's so interesting in this business, you have a huge day like this and before the day is over you've got to put your foot on the accelerator, celebrate later," Dr. Dean said to his campaign manager. "You sit back and watch your victories, you lose."--Dr. Howard Dean, Nov. 12, 2003

This is why Dean's the front-runner because he doesn't take a moment to rest to "savor" the victory as some other Democratic candidates do, instead, he just pushes on towards his goal: getting the nomination, and then winning the general election.

2. What did he say about the substance of the endorsement?
The union movement is crucial to countering GWB, as well as to this nation generally. I hope Dean had something substantive to say about that.

3. uh....he did have something to say about that.......here it is below.
"I am honored to be joined today by SEIU and AFSCME. I want to thank Presidents Stern and McEntee for their friendship and their leadership on behalf of America’s workers. I also want to thank the men and women of these two powerful unions for joining us and believing in our campaign. Your support means a great deal to the grassroots movement we are building across this country, and working together over the coming months we will take our country back.

"My campaign is about people coming together and participating in politics for common purpose to improve the lives of ordinary Americans. This is what SEIU and AFSCME do every day; their three million members represent two of the greatest grassroots organizations in the country—fighting everyday to protect workers and help them achieve job security, livable and fair wages, and affordable health care for everyone. United together, we can take back the White House and take our country back."--Dr.Dean, Nov.12, 2003"

6. Dean is correct
We must push forward together. I get the mental image of Americans of all walks of life marching to the White House, when I think of his camapign.

7. that's what I think too......
and there'll be an air of joy and exuberance in sharp contrast to the feeling of doom and despair when Bush took office on that rainy day....
