Rove's Revenge: Jessica Lynch's brother being sent to Iraq |
|
Excerpt: "Members of the 160th are deployed constantly at numerous locations around the world and as a matter of course we do not normally discuss those deployments for security reasons,'' he said.
"However, I can say that since Spc. Lynch just recently joined the unit he is still undergoing some of the military training crucial to fulfilling the duties of his new assignment.''
Lynch acted as a family spokesman to the national media after his sister was rescued April 1 by U.S. forces from an Iraqi hospital in the city of Nasiriyah.
He also introduced her before the national media at her return to Wirt County in July and rode with her, in uniform, in a parade through Elizabeth during the homecoming celebration.

that since Ms. Lynch has spoken out against the "truth" of the Pentagon and Washington Post stories and said that much of it was fabricated and that she is not a hero that her brother will be put in harms way as revenge/way to get her to be quiet

5. Substitute "Machieavelli" for "Rove" & the statement makes perfect sense. |

6. What dirtbags they are! |
|
They silence the sister very effectively with that move.
Think recruitment has fallen to zero yet?

7. She was naive if she thought nothing would be done to her brother |
|
but there seems to be a lot of naivete in the ranks these days. I was surprised at the guys who spoke to reporters in Iraq and didn't toe the official "morale-is-great-and we-are-winning-the-peace-sir!" line. The families who are speaking out are taking some risks, too. Dissent is not an accepted part of a military career. Or most careers, for that matter. Criticizing the boss is always risky.
Jessica Lynch seems to be a tough little thing who knows how to defend herself, but I don't think she meant to cause trouble. As someone said, she was just brought up to tell the truth. From the beginning, her father contradicted what the government was reporting about her injuries and I don't think he was trying to stir up trouble, either. He was just telling the truth and didn't understand he wasn't going along with the Pentagon plan to make Jessica the symbol of American courage. It may not be common in Washington, but a lot of Americans still believe in telling the truth.

9. It's Rove's revenge, but it's not |
|
being extracted out on Jessica Lynch's brother. 47,000 troops are getting their call up orders. Pretty soon it will anybody that can walk, crawl or carry a rifle.
