What the hell is a "filibuster vote"?
This morning on NPR they mentioned there would be a vote about the democratic filibuster. I thought the whole idea of the filibuster was to avoid the vote. Of course if there's a vote on the filibuster they'll lose. Is this what's going to happen?

really identify it as a DEMOCRATIC fillibuster?

2. It's called "cloture"
It's a vote to end a filibuster and it requires 60 votes to end the filibuster

3. I Think The Repugs Are Going To Put Out A Bill.....
that will kill the ability for the Dems. to filibuster nominees. It would be a rules change. I talked to a staffer in the cloakroom about this. Frist and our buddy Zell are sponsoring the bill. The shit will hit the fan if this bill goes to the floor.

Essentially, it will mean that every nominee will get passed through. The problem for the Repugs is that, if they don't get the majority next election, it will turn on them and they will be the ones to suffer big time.

5. Someone should point that out to them.
The more common-sense ones like John McCain might listen.

7. If they submit this bill
the Dems can filabuster it also. I don't think the Repubs will get more than the 53 votes they usually get when trying to break one.

8. A Filabuster
Is a vehicle to ensure checks and balances in the houses. I think any attempts to stop this will fall flat on it's face.

I heard it on NPR this morning also
