Poll question: I have a gut feeling Bush's polling numbers are heading south
The new CBS poll/Zogby Poll and others show the Chimp's numbers are falling. Albeit by a little. But his numbers have traditionally fallen by 5 to 10% then stabilized. Drop another 5 to 10% then stabilize.

His numbers had stablilized recently into the 48 to 52% mark. But now I have this feeling that they will fall again.

With the one week economic recovery (have you seen the more recent numbers and 'revisions') seemingly gone. And with the situation in Iraq worsening. Coupled with the protests that will follow Bush in England and all the bad publicity for Dick Cheney, I see his numbers falling to the 43% to 47% range by the end of November/beginning of December.

Now is the time for Democrats to go on the offensive on the issue of jobs. Let the media chip away on Iraq. Now the issue should be - jobs, jobs, jobs. Not only the number of them lost. But also, the quality of those gained.

2. I agree
but Bush hasn't even begun campaigning yet. We should be cognizant that HIS campaign hasn't even started yet, so when it does, he will have more time to respond to our statements.

4. Are you kidding?
He's been campaigning for four years. The problem in the past is that WE WEREN'T CAMPAIGNING.

The situation will change dramatically when a Democrat is selected to lead the party.

3. Disagree
I hope I'm wrong, but we should be prepared for at least a little bump up. Bush is repositioning himself on Iraq, the latest economic numbers work to his favor, and most importantly, the slide will not go unanswered.

It's going to be all out war to the finish and we must not expect a straight line to the bottom for Bush.

6. Look at all the numbers out this week
Every economic number I saw this week was bad.

Jobless claims rise.

More layoffs.

Companies miss projection targets.

Inflation on the rise.

etc, etc, etc.

13. lol Adret
You just made me laugh out loud (literally).

I love the new sig line.

Better than the last one, what was it?

Giving away your own money is charity. Giving away someone elses money is grand larceny.

Or something to that effect.

The MLK Jr. one is better though.

8. Yes ...
this blamathon should be the starting point. This is what * and his cronies care about? Are 4 right-wing judges more important than 3 million+ jobs?

11. Bush will get a sizable bump right before the election
The last day of the republican convention is scheduled to end on 9/11/04 in NYC. That's a hell of a bully pulpit to make a campaign speech right before the election.

14. Are you serious?
Listen, people in my home town get angry when people campaign during the Santa Clause Parade. Can you imagine using September 11th for a political campaign.

We should blast him into oblivion for that.

We should definitely not let him get away with that.
