So many Democratic Senators step up to the podium and say that Orrin Hatch is their friend and praise him for his balanced and fair opinions. Ain't it about time to stop lying for that snake? He is probably more responsible for the last 40-hr debate than anyone else. He is the chair of the Judiciary and he acts like a spoiled child when he doesn't get his way. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. But he always criticizes Democrats in a very demeaning way in his last words. It was really nice to see Mary Landrieu stick her foot down his big hypocritical mouth.

2. What did weasels ever do to you? |

If memory serves, Hatch was also the dunderhead who couldn't get in front of a camera fast enough after the September 11 attacks to announce that the intelligence community was monitoring Osama and his cohorts through cell phone communications. Bin Laden quit using them immediately. Thanks, Orrin; bin Laden might be behind bars right now, and 400 American service men and women might still be alive if you hadn't flapped your gums.

Weasels are persistent and fearless hunters. They will boldly confront animals much larger than themselves. They've been known to attack humans who come between them and their food.

Well, I did once hear that the three biggest womanizers in D.C. were Newt Gingrich, Ted Kennedy, and Orrin Hatch.

I think that's a mob reference; when something big would go down in the days past in organized crime, perhaps when a particularly powerful don or someone under protection of a powerful don was whacked or someone attempted to whack them, the side performing the hit often "went to the mattresses" or into hiding to avoid immediate retribution.

17. Well, going to the mattresses meant mob war. |
|
IIRC
I just feel that mattress has other meanings for Orrin.

5. My nickname for Orrin Hatch is "Mocoso" |

His nostrils are rounded and it always leaves me with the impression that he has had a lifetime habit of picking his nose.

I hate Boring Snatch! Of course everyone is aware that he advocated developing technology to blow up hackers' computers remotely (which means it's probably already in development) and amending the constitution so Arnold Schwarzenegger can run for President. Oh, yes, Boring Snatch is truly deranged. He needs to go back to being a bad composer, but it'll never happen because of the Mormons.

15. Any chance a Dem can win in Utah? |
|
I mean I know that they would have to be completely pro-life and that would be somewhat of a big blow to any Democrat, but other than that I don't see why it's such a Republican dominated state. I'd think that the democrats' anti-death penalty and prison beatings would appeal to a large christain community.

18. Native Utahn here - no solid Dem chances in Utah |
|
I come from a rare breed in Utah...old time Democrats (yes, they used to have them!) Dad was the press secretary for long time Senator Ted Moss (D-Utah), whom Oral Hatchhole succeeded.
Sadly, that Hatchhole's victory indicated a sea change in Utah - after that things went from a healthy democrat/republican balance to solidly and overwhelmingly republican, with few distractions (the late Scott Matheson is an example). I remember my dad fretting at nights over how the LDS-Republican theocracy was gradually coming into total control and what devistating effects it would have on Utah; most notably in reference to alcohol availability to the tourist industry. Over time, Democrats lost all these battles to the growing Republican evil.
At this time, Democratism in Utah has been marginalized to the point of near insignificance. Sure, Democrats get in here or there, but a point should be made that these Democrats would be considered Republicans anywhere else. Liberalism has almost no pull in politics there.
Here's the irony. Did you know that Utah was the old stomping ground (and, sadly, the execution grounds) of the great Working Man's Bard and union organizer Joe Hill? Also, did you know its the birthplace of the great IWW spokesman Big Bill Hayword? Did you know that the womens suffragette movement gained it's biggest boost and activist thrust in Mormon Utah?
To wrap this up, things don't look good in Utah for anything slightly left of Ghengis Khan. The new LDS/Republican social model is producing groupthink young Republicans who will pull the levers like Stepford children for the forseeable future.

7. Snatch is the repigs favorite set-up man |
|
for their shit.
Whenever a repig gets in trouble, Hatch is the first one out there issuing statements like, "this is indeed troubling...if proved true, it could be a grave situation," etc. Of course, two weeks later, he comes out like Old Faithful to announce that "the situation has been explained to my satisfaction...I now understand...the dems should stop nit-picking...we have more important work to do."
I think some Dems think he's moderate because he suckers them in on the first part of the ploy. They forget that he always, ALWAYS ends up exonerating the repig position or miscreant-in-question.

11. Hatch is one of the Republican hounds of hell. |

Remember how he and the other attack dogs from the Republican party ganged up on Professor Hill in the Thomas hearings with their lips curled back and their fangs dripping with her blood?
I remember it. I'll never forget it.

I like the nickname Hatchling.
It really gets at his reptilian nature.
Oh sure, he plays fair with Democrats...when they suck all his toes and feed him grapes. But what Republican wouldn't?

16. Correct me if I'm wrong... |

but isn't it Hatch that is behind amending the Constitution to allow nonnative born Americans to run for president?
And isn't he the driving force behind allowing noncitizens to register to vote?
Those two items alone should have the people of Utah up in arms. The first would never pass, but for crying out loud....it is hard enough to get CITIZENS that are already registered, to get out and vote; this nut thinks it's OK to just say 'screw it anyone can vote'?
:wtf: :nuke:
